Does apple crumble and custard make a good dessert at a dinner party?
My friend says its mainly for kids? What easy to make dessert can i serve at a dinner party?
Answers:
I did a ginger cake desert for New Years Eve this year and spiced it up by adding in some rum soaked, chocolate covered sultanas. It was yummy! Very adult, can be baked in the morning and simply served with cream :)
Give me a moment to get the recipe page for you :)
EDIT: The recipe can be found here for the cake

The chocolate covered sultanas came from here (I put a whole tub in!)

personally, i think any kind of a crumble or crisp is an excellent thing to make for kids!! it's quick and easy and i've never met a child that didn't like a good cherry crisp or a peach cobbler!!
depends on what you serve. but yummy! i would do it, i entertain alot. perhaps serve it in small glass dishes(mini salad bowls or plates).
whens the party!! :)
Yes! Those two sound like a great dessert for a dinner party!
Apple crumble is sooooo good!
You can also serve a fun and easy dessert like Jello.
Apple crumble is good anytime, dinner party or no. It's all about presentation. Try putting them in individual parfait cups or something, anything looks "adult", well thought out, and classy when given a good presentation.
i dont think it is a very good dessert to make at a dinner party i would make one of these things
any kind of cheesecake
fruit flan
pav
choc self sauce pudding
marsbar mud cake
i think it would i have been to a party and they served that and alot of people liked it i for one did not, but thats just my opinion
I adore apple crumble, but for a dinner party, would generally choose something a little more sophisticated! For example, Quen of Puddings:

Dinner parties are generally for grownups, right? So, depending on what you're serving, dessert needs to be light or can be heavier. Here's a recipe that you might enjoy making either as a parfait or as a pie:
1 can Eagle Brand Milk
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1 container heavy whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp almond extract
1 graham cracker crust (or crushed graham crackers for parfaits)
1 can Raspberry or Cherry Pie Filling
Mix the lemon juice with the Eagle Brand Milk and stir until thickened. Set aside and whip cream. Add extracts and continue whipping until peaks form and hold. Fold the cream mixture with the milk mixture and pour into pie crust. Top with pie filling and chill for several hours. For parfaits, layer milk mixture with pie filling and graham crackers. Top with whipped cream.
why not make something easy, like a tiramisu.have not yet meet anyone that dosent like it.
