What are some fun summer party ideas?!
My room mate and I are wanting to have a summer bash but we are looking for a really fun theme that hasn't been over done by everyone else!. I'd like to tie the food to the theme if possible! Thanks!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'd do an ugly shirt party, where everyone has to wear an ugly shirt, I've been to a party like this before and it was really funny some of the shirts people found (mostly found at thrift stores/ goodwill)!. It's a fun party and people liked it because you didn't have to spend much to buy an ugly shirt!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Some Ideas:
A Night in Tuscany- and do Italian food
Under the Moon and Stars -do camp foods! Like hot dogs and smores!. Tell scary stores and see if you can do a bonfire, etc!.
BBQ Fun and Games - You can do bbq with burgers and hot dogs and then set up a volleyball net and play volleyball, do relay races like potato sack races and three legged races, wheelbarrel races, have pie eating contests, but instead of pie, fill the tins with whipped cream or instead do watermelon! You can even get an inflatable kiddie pool and fill it with water, break into 2 teams and have a tug of war, the losing team ends up in the pool! Then have the bbq with burgers and hot dogs with some sides!. Then you can set up an ice cream bar, with chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream and some toppings like sprinkles, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and marachino cherries and let everyone make their own sundaes!. You can get the tall plastic sundae glasses at the dollar store or the waffle cone bowls at the grocery store!.
Moraccan - Decorate with some lanterns and get some cushions in the deep colors of fushia, purple, and deep blue, and have everyone sit down near the floor on the cushions and get some tables that are low to the ground!. You can do a Moraccan menu!.
Summer Picnic - Set up the yard like a picnic, lay out blankets, get some music, make sandwichs, iced tea, lemonade, soda, water, etc!. Set up a volleyball net, have some frisbees, etc!. Have a picnic in your yard!. Sit in the yard on a big blanket and enjoy the weather and your friends!. Pack a cooler and make the food that you like! You can pack up just about anything from fried chicken, to cheese and breads, to fruits, to sandwiches! Have fun with it, it's all about spending the day with those you care about and have fun and it's definitely different and something your friends won't forget! You can even set up an umbrella so that there's shade for those that need it!.

You can do glittered name badge for each of your guest to identify them!. You can do cocktail style!. Finger food instead of big entrees!.

I live in the Philippines and i did my birthday 2 years ago this way!.!. (great summer party)!.!. it's eat with your hands party!. i prepared a long table laid plastic table cover then covered it with banana leaves!. banana leaves serves as the plate!. then served the food on small plates to scatter through out the table then everyone eats with their hands like how we traditionally used to do it here!. Our food was steamed butter crabs, fresh shrimp, fried chicken (for the ones that don't like seafood), and barbecued pork!. all had sauces and starch was just rice!. then in the bathroom or sink where they will wash their hands i provided soap, towel AND cut pieces of lemon to squeeze on their hands just in case it smelled like seafood!. Hey a luau sounds like a good idea roast a pig, dress up grass skirts and leis!.!.!. Tropical palm trees and flowers, sand, tiki torches, if you have a pool that would be great too!! A luau is a classic and one of my favorites!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Do a dollar store party!. Everyone is allowed to spend $10 at the dollar store to make an outfit!. You can only wear what you bought at the dollar store with your $10!. Way fun, especially with some alcohol involved :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
