High quality dinner plates for steak cookouts......?!

Question:

High quality dinner plates for steak cookouts......?

We always see fancy, ornate dinnerware that's geared toward elegant foo-foo parties. But how about premium quality plates for a stylish cookout, rugged but very high quality plates appropriate for steaks, etc.?

I had even wondered if anyone sold plates with some durable rubber bottoms?

Where can I buy something like this? I thought of Front Gate, but I can't even find their website, and the other names escape me.

Answers:
You've described melamine dinnerware sets. I hate that stuff, but it would fill your bill. Reasonable, durable, etc. Try Target.

1988 chevy hub caps.

cooking.com has some great wooden steak plates that are perfect for cookouts. my parents had something similar that we use. it's like a wooden tray with a spot for the steak with a drip groove etched into it to catch any juices. the other side has a spot for your side dishes. do a search for "wooden steak plate."

my personal favorite is a 2 piece plate. the actual plate is a metal dish that can be heated on the grill or oven so it will keep the steak warm while being served/eaten. the bottom part is a wooden holder into which the metal plate is seated to allow for handling without special utensils or oven mits. i think these are either aluminum/wood or steel/wood combinations.

I use dinnerware designed for the outdoors. Many times they are made of melamine so they are pretty much unbreakable. I have matching serving platters and cups too.

They might have the plates on ebay since they have a lot of items.

Instawares has tons of these type of items, I am sure you'll find the size you are looking for. Some are coated cardboard, some are plastic. Here's one I think you might like, but feel free to search through their site for others:

Have you considered Royal Chinet paper dinner plates?
