What is a rehersal dinner?!

Question:

What is a rehersal dinner?

does this happen the day before the wedding and who pays for it

Answers:
It is for the people in the wedding and their familys, done right after the rehersal for the wedding and the grooms family pays for it as the brides family pays for everything else!

You go to a fake restaurant and eat a fake dinner!

The bride's parents.

Its a wild orgy with the bride and all her bridesmaids.

Yes it happens before the wedding so that the bride and groom and everybody else will know what to do at the wedding. ANd the dinner is so that everybody will show up. ANd most of the time the parents of the groom will pay for it. But most of th etime it's caterered. But sometimes when you have padrinos they will pay for it.

when you have a rehearsal for your wedding, its customary to take your wedding party out to dinner. its usually the day before the wedding. in most cases, the grooms parents pay for it

My rehearsal dinner was paid for by the grooms parents b/c traditionally it's the brides parents that pays for the wedding. It's supposed to be a dinner for your bridesmaids, groomsmen and close family members after they practice for your wedding which is usually the next day.

Traditionally the rehearsal dinner is the responsibility of the groom's family. (Someone above said the bride's family, but that's not right. The bride's family pays for the wedding reception.)

The dinner is usually the night before the wedding (for Catholic Weddings it is right after the actual ceremony rehearsal - which is usually about an hour with the priest at the church.)

The rehearsal dinner is attended by the wedding party - those participating in the wedding -and the officiator- JOP, priest, reverend, whatever. Also invited are the grandparents and other "favorite" guests. I've seen some of these get pretty out of control though, with almost the entire wedding there, so be choosy.

At the rehearsal dinner, brides and grooms often give their bridesmaids and ushers their gifts and may even give a small toast. Have fun!

It's like a walk through before the actual thing. If you are thinking about a wedding, you practice it with those who are going to be there the night before the wedding to see if everything would be good for the actual wedding.
