You want to serve tea sandwiches with your teas (make sure you have some teas iced)!. also, if you have a good local bakery, pick up a box of Petit Fours (tiny individual cake squares)!.
Here are a few Tea Sandwich recipes:
Almond Chicken Salad Sandwiches

Spread: Combine 3/4 cup butter, 2 teaspoons lemon juice, a pinch of salt, and 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves or 2 tablespoons dried basil!.

Filling:
1 cup finely chopped cooked chicken meat
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup slivered almonds
Salt and pepper to taste
20 slices bread, your choice

Combine the filling ingredients!. Spread each slice of bread with a thin layer of the butter mixture!. Add the filling to half the bread slices and top with the other half, buttered sides in!. Remove the crusts and cut the sandwiches as desired!.

Makes 40 tea sandwiches!.

Cucumber Sandwiches

Cucumbers
Thin sliced white bread
Whipped cream cheese or unsalted butter softened
Salt

Peel cucumbers and slice very thin!. Sprinkle the slices with a little salt and lay on paper towels to drain!. For each sandwich spread a little cream cheese or butter on two slices of bread!. Layer the cucumber slices on one slice of bread (no thicker than 1/4 inch) Cut crust off sandwiches and then cut into squares, triangles or other fun shapes using cookie cutters!.

Ham and Apricot Preserve Tea Sandwiches

Afternoon tea is traditionally between 3 p!.m!. and 4 p!.m!. Plain, flavored tea, coffee, or iced tea is perfectly acceptable!. High Tea really refers to a light meal served between 5 p!.m!. and 6 p!.m!., often taking the place of a supper!. First select a date and send out your invitations!. It is best if you plan this over the weekend as most tea parties take place in the afternoon or early evening!. You can send out evite invitations for free or visit http://www!.wikihow!.com/Make-Cute-Tea-Par!.!.!. to create your own!. Purchase your tea and any related accessories such as a teapot, creamer, sugar, cookie plates, cake plate, silverware, linen, crystal-like glasses and flowers!. You don't have to buy real crystal or flowers (you can find some cool fakes at a party planning store)!. Since this is for back to school, try an autumn-themed event and get teas with caramel, chai, Earl Grey, vanilla, robust Assam or Ceylon estate teas, or a Darjeeling!. Ensure that you have a plentiful supply of boiling water - hire in an electric tea urn if necessary!. Tea partys usually have a soup, quiche, side salad, tea sandwiches, scones and sweet bite-sized desserts!. Try a butternut squash soup from the grocery store or smoked turkey tea sandwiches with pears and cheese!. Fill bowls with small candies, nuts, or fruits!. Next, set your table making sure you have enough tables and chairs and look for a nice centerpiece for the tables from the party planning store!. Think of warm colors like red, orange, yellow and peach!. Don't forget to give away favors like large-pillar candles surrounded by mini-pumpkins and unusual gourds, bowls filled with fall fruits like pomegranates, apples, pears, or a combination of all or colored leaves from your neighborhood with unscented and protected tea-lights!.
