17th Birthday party ideas for my son?!
I need ideas for my son's 17th birthday party in November!.
My son has aspergers, and is literally socially alone!. Aspergers is High functioning autisim, and he loves space and the solar system!.
But planning a party is hard for him because there is no one he wants to invite, he stays to himself!.
I want to make it a great party for him, but I am at a loss on what to plan, where to start, who to contact!. Any ideas would be great!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My first question is, is he comfortable at parties and would he be comfortable at his own!? Would it be better to just decorate the house and celebrate with family!? It's his birthday and it's time for him to do something he would love to do and have fun, I would do something that he would love, and if that means only you, him, and maybe one or two others around him for his party, that's all I would do!. If it means no party and going to a space museum, I would do that!. If a party with just you, him, and your husband would be fun for him, do that! No one says a party has to have hundreds of people! Do what would make him happy!
You can get some styrofoam balls in different sizes and paint them to look like the different planets of the solar system and hang them around the party area!. You can make the biggest ones the Earth, Moon, and Sun, and then do the others, you can even ask him to help you, he would love painting them and decorating them being he loves space! You can get some posters about space and hang them around the party area, and then hang them in his room after the party!. You can even go to the toy store and find some space kits and put them together and hang them around the party area as decorations!.
For balloons I would do black and silver which would look really cool!. It would tie into the space theme and then do black and grey streamers!.
You can then get a cake and have it decorated with the solar system on it!. or decorate cupcakes and make each one be a planet from the solar system!.
For foods, do whatever are his favorites!. You don't have to follow a theme when it comes to the food, do whatever he likes being it's his party and his birthday!. If he likes pizza, do that, if it's bbq, do that, whatever he likes have it for him!.
I wouldn't overload him with people, not even one or two extra if he's not comfortable with having them around him, I would either stick to having the party with you and him and your husband, or take him to a space museum if you have one nearby, I'm sure he would absolutey LOVE that if you can find one!. I know if you go to somewhere like experiencegifts!.come or something like that or do a search of experience gifts, there are some places like that where you can pay and spend the night there, it sounds like your son would LOVE that! Maybe a planetarium visit would even be great!.

i dont know of this is what you were thinkin of but how about not having a big party for him but organising a day where he can go to a space centre or something similar on the day of his birthday your family can come to visit but that way it would not be a big party and he would not get upset with all the people!.hope this helps!.xWww@FoodAQ@Com
why not ask him who else he wants to invite first, maybe he just wants family!.
but how about cousins or close family members or friends of the family!.
if he's comfortable, then invite close family/neighbors!. but make sure with him first!.

Why would you do something that you admit he would not like!? I am trying to help, but I must be missing something!. He would probably be much happier if you took him to a planetarium for his Birthday!Www@FoodAQ@Com
