Question: How many pounds of meat do I need to make kabobs enough for 35 adults!?
I'm making meat and veggie kabobs for a party of about 35 adults and 15 toddlers!. Can someone help me with how many pounds of meat and how many pounds of peppers and onions I'll need!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I would provision 1/3 pound of meat per adult and 1/4 pound of meat for each child!. I would use an equal ratio for the vegetables as well!.

12 pounds of meat
10 pounds onions
7 pounds of peppers

I would select tri-tip-steak for the Kabobs as it is tender and cheaper than tenderloin!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Figure 1/3 pound of beef per person, more (1/2 pound) if it mostly men or teen agers!. I've use large mushrooms, mixed peppers, onions (red for color) same weight for the veggies!.

Soak the bamboo skewers in water before grilling for at least an hour!.

Cut the meat into 3/4" cubes!. Do some just meat and some just veg!. I prefer to do all veg and meat separate!. I usually marinate in Italian Dressing over night!. Dollar store plastic shoe boxes are great for this!. Plastic bags will get holes with the bamboo!. You can fit about 30 in a box!. Many cooks par cook the veggies before skewering by sauteeing them!. Chicken is good too!.

Try not to stab yourself with the bamboo!. It happens!.

Make rice as a sidedish!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

youll need about 6 ounces of meat per adult and 3 ounces per toddler thats about 14 total pounds, as far as peppers go I would say about half a pepper and half an onion per person as i am not sure the size of the kabobs you are making but those are generally the serving sizes !.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you're not serving anything else, I suggest at least one pound of meat per adult!. I think one onion is enough for 5 people and one pepper is enough for 2 people!. These numbers are estimates!. I don't know your guests well enough to know what they like!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

8 3/4 lbs meat, 17-18 peppers, 17-18 onionsWww@FoodAQ@Com
