Tuxedo and gown chocolate covered strawberries?!

Question:

Tuxedo and gown chocolate covered strawberries?

Does anyone know where I can find a recipe, that explains how I make those chocolate covered strawberries that look like little tuxedos and wedding gowns?

Answers:
Here is a video how to.

http://www.kraftfoods.com/main.aspx?s=co...

and here is a recipe from recipe zaar

2 (16 ounce) cartons strawberries
1 (8 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (12 ounce) package white almond bark
cooking paraffin wax (optional)
wax paper, lined cookie sheets
toothpicks
shortening or vegetable oil (optional for emercency response plan)

Wash strawberries and allow to dry 2-3 hrs before dipping.
Place 3 or 4 (depending on the amount you are making) almond bark bars in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute, then stir, continue to microwave in 15-30 second intervals until chocolate is melted.
Dip strawberries up to leaves by holding stem/leaves, place on wax paper lined cookie sheet.
Place strawberries in refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to allow chocolate to harden. For a faster alternative, place in freezer for 2 minutes.
Melt 3 or 4 bars or 1/2 to 1 cup chocolate chips and wax in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute, then stir, continue to microwave in 15-30 second intervals until chocolate is melted. (Wax is optional but it gives the finished product a shiny finish rather than a dull finish).
Dip strawberries up to leaves on the left and right side, forming a "V" in the center w/ almond bark, by holding stem/leaves, place on wax paper lined cookie sheet.
With a toothpick or shishkabob scewer dip end in chocolate and make dots/buttons up the middle of the strawberries.
Allow to set up in refrigerator or freezer as instructed above.
Serve cold, I put mine on a glass, crystal serving tray.
Hints: (Emergency Response Plan) If your chocolate becomes firm in the microwave, add a little bit of shortening or vegetable oil until it
softens.
Also, make strawberries the day that you are planning to serve them, with the chocolate shell the strawberries can't breathe and will shrivle up.

The first poster has a godo video. Here is a photo that includes the "wedding gown."

I would say it's done the same way, except use all white chocoalte. (Dip in 3/4 of hte way, then dip in at angles to make a V.) The photo looks like the V was made w/ subsequent layers of white chocoalte, to make what looks like pleating.

Little white choc dots (like tuxedo buttons) could be done aroudn the wide spot of the V to make a pearl necklace, too!

HTH and have fun!

Tuxedo Strawberries
Description
A recipe for Tuxedo Strawberries

Ingredients

24 to 36 strawberries (about two 1-pint baskets), stems intact

1-1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons Crisco? All-Vegetable Shortening or 2 tablespoons Crisco#174; Stick, divided

1-1/2 cups white chocolate, chopped
Preparation
Line a large baking sheet with waxed paper. Wipe strawberries clean; dry with paper towels.

Place semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon shortening in a microwave-safe glass bowl. Cook at 50 percent power, or defrost, for 45 seconds. Press finger into chocolate to see if it is melted, if not, heat for another 45 seconds.

Repeat process until chocolate is soft and shortening is melted. Stir until mixture is smooth. Repeat process with white chocolate and remaining 1 tablespoon shortening.

Holding a strawberry by its green top, dip 3/4 of berry into melted white chocolate. Let excess chocolate drip off. Repeat with remaining berries. Place on waxed paper-lined sheet.

Dip each cooled white chocolate-dipped berry at an angle into the semi-sweet chocolate, creating one side of the tuxedo "lapel." Repeat the process at an angle on the other side of the berry. Place on waxed paper-lined sheet.

Place a small amount of melted semi-sweet chocolate into a small plastic zipper bag. Cut the tip of the corner, creating a very small opening. Pipe decorative buttons and bow ties onto strawberries.

Refrigerate until chocolate coating is firm, about 1 hour.

(Can be prepared 8 hours ahead, but they are best eaten the same day. Keep refrigerated.)
