Food ideas for party with at least 45 guests.. HELP!?!
I am holding a graduation party for at least 45 guests and I have never planned for a party this size! I want to make sure that I have enough food and enough variety for people!. I am planning on bbq-ing chicken, and I am making mac, potato, and pasta salad, muffins, cornbread, brownies, a veggie tray!.!. Im also buying a keg, but I would love more ideas and input!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ok!.!.!.I cater!. So you need another meat dish along with the BBQ chicken!. Even if it is hamburgers and hotdogs!.
It's summer and early corn is in season so corn on the cob would be great!. I wouldn't do the muffins (or cornbread unless it is traditional where you are) but instead make or buy those little finger rolls for the people who are having the chicken or the vegetarians if any!. The hamburg/hotdog crowd will have rolls for their bread!. also baked beans because this sounds like a picnic party!. The best kind!
also!.!.!.have a meat platter on the side with cold cuts is always a great idea and you can make your own just as nice with buying your deli meats then having them make it!.

Macaroni AND pasta salad AND potato salad is maybe overkill!. Skip the macaroni salad maybe, to save money!.
What about watermelon!? Inexpensive, easy to prepare, filling!.
Potato chips (which people usually serve at parties in summertime) aren't very classy for a nice party like this, so maybe some cracker sticks they can dip in a fancy mustard (you can find a nice mustard for $4 that isn't just plain old French's)!.

You could have a theme such as a lua'au, and make the chicken and add some shrimp skewers to the menu, stick to your plans for the food but instead of cornbread and muffins you could add a fresh fruit tray, and white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies!. You could also make a hawaain punch with a real punch by adding some pineapple juice carbonated water floating orange slices and rum and still get your 1 keg but have an extra drink that wouldnt be too costly to add on!. also you could buy a couple tiki torches and some plastic flower necklaces, grass skirts all for cheap at a party supply storeWww@FoodAQ@Com
