Planning a luau hawaiian party?!

Question:

Planning a luau hawaiian party?

Answers:
NOPE... no sand around here... lol
But I have been to one where they filled in their swimming pool with sand so they could have a luau... It was great

No, are you? If so go to the party store they'll have all the decorations you'll need.A pig roast is the way to go for the main course.

I attended one of these some years ago and it was terrific! The hostess hired Hawaiian dancers from a local venue to entertain and held a barbecue in the backyard. She had rented small round tables and covered them with linens and grass matts and also had tiki torches and umbrellas. The party went from late afternoon until evening and we were greeted with artificial flower lays and mai tai's. For dinner we had roast pork, fresh fruit, rice pilaf and chicken. Dessert was a Hawaiian Wedding Cake and petit fours. The music was original Don Ho and such. It was great. I'm sure that your local party rental company can help you with the big stuff and that you can find Hawaiian dancers in the yellow pages. Have fun!

wow so cool

Awesome! Have a great time.
-Decorating is pretty easy, because this is a popular theme. Your local iparty or Party store will have plates, napkins, leis, blow up palm trees, tableclothes, even grass skirts and coconut bras. Go there first.
-Put a skirt on your buffet table
-Have invitations in the shape of flamingos, tiki masks, or hawaiian flowers
-Activity- the limbo- decorate a broomstick or other long pole with crepe paper and ribbons. Make sure you get the music.!
-You can make your own decorations with a mural of tropical beach, a jungle, or a bonfire
-Make homemade tissue paper flowers
-Use beach barbie and ken as centerpieces
-Use surf boards or boogie boards as decorations
-Buy toy crabs and sand pails for decorations
-Use sand pails on buffett table to hold chips, pretzels, rolls, silverware, candy, etc.
-If you can, hire a Hula Dance instructor as entertainment during dinner
-Play hot coconut- like hot potato
-Play tropical relay race with grass skirts, bermuda shorts, sunglasses, straw hats, nexklace, beach bags and beach chairs. Make the relay a tag-off kind of thing- person one runs down a field, puts on the shorts, runs back, etc. Be creative!
-Use a kiddie pool and fill with plastic fish, flip flops, etc, write a 1 2 or 3 on the bottom of each item. Have people "bob" or fish for items and get prizes according to their numbers.
-make flowers or leis as party activities
-Have a frosty fruity drink bar- Mocktails if you have kids
-Do sand art vases as an activity

HAVE FUN!
