Can You Help Me With A theme?
I am looking to throw a huge party in April. I need an awesome theme. I'm not talking about a small party. I'm looking at around 250-300 guests. I will be charging and i will have tons of alcohol. I just need a Theme. Ya Dig?

about $900 going toward alcohol.

One more note. It is a college party meant to attract a large crowd. Pretty much good old fashion frat quality.

Thighs & Ties. = Lingerie and Black Tie.
Pajama Party = good excuse for hot girls to dress sluty and chubby girls to cover up.
Pirate Themes are in.
Red Light Green Light. Green means you are open. Yellow cautious. Red means committed.
Would love to hear about a frat party where jelly bracelets were actually used. Pretty much an urban myth though.
Heaven & Hell can be fun if you have an up/down stairs. + some red & blue/white christmas lights.
I would bust out some crazy grain alcohol & Hawaiian punch jungle juice around midnight.
You might also set up a "green room" if you have some cash to start the fire.

hawaiian luau is always fun. you could rent a yacht and throw your party on that. also, people like staged murder mystery games at parties too. my best friend once held a chess party/tournament that was a lot of fun. the champ won $1,000.
since it is pretty much the beginning of spring I would do a spring theme....you can buy so many pretty colors of glass and use fresh spring flowers ...with fresh veggies, and fruits that are very colorful as decorations as well as part of your menu...
Isnt April Easter also I guess you could go with an easter theme too...
I have organized several of my fraternity parties. You have to have a sense of humor for most of them. But hey thats part of the whole deal. Anyway the classics are fun but are rarely remembered. You can use your imagination and come up with some fun stuff. One theme we used was Big Bikini Bash. The girls and guys wore bikini tops. It was pretty fun and got pretty crazy as you can imagine. Also we threw a party called White Trash Bash. This one was a blast,. Everyone wears the trashiest, things you can find. Some of the girls dressed like cheap hookers, pink hair, ect. Guys had on cut-off blue jeans and bare feet. Movie themes are fun you can dress up like your favorite character. Ice parties are fun wtih lots of ice scultures and shot blocks, where they pour the alcohol down a whole in the huge ice block. Wet T- shirt contests are fun at these ice parties. Use your imagination it's fun to come up with new ideas and try them out. Good Luck
Quarters is a great theme. Shots for quarters, drinking games, cards and other gambling with quarters, etc.
I had a drinking games themed party that was the best time ever. different games just set up so people could play what they wanted - beer pong, quarters, bull$****, flip cup, pool, pin the tail on the... etc.

Ya dig?? LOL Sounds like you are stuck in the 70's already so go that route.
I went to a school with 14 frats, all trying to outdo each other. The best parties were all about the people, if the cops came, and whether or not the beer ran out. That's about it!
Ideas
-Heaven and Hell (2 frats next to each other co-threw this- one as Heaven and the other as hell with a tarpish-decorated-tunnel between)
-Pajama jam- everyone wears pjs
-Smash party- one frat was renovating and as part of the party they let people smash up walls and old junk. It was realllly fun
-Around the world- have all the upstairs rooms open with different shots or drinks in each- Mexico- Tequila Sunrises, Ireland- Mudslides, Russia- White Russians, etc.
-Outdoors- a Band and BBQ. Cannot go wrong. Theme it Hawaii (the big flowers and leis), Tiki (bongos and tiki torches and masks), or Western (cowgirl/cowboy), etc.
At most frat parties, you want both males and females. I think some good ideas are:
1. Arabian nights - have people come dressed for the occasion.
2. Around the World in a Night. I actually went to a frat party called something like this. It was one of the best parties I ever attended. Each room where the party was held was decorated to reflect a different country. The organizers didn't spend much on decorations but each room really had the feel of a country. In each room or country, drinks and food were served which matched the theme of the country. There were flags in each room which matched the locale.
People were given little fake passports as tickets. You got your passport stamped in each room. There were 4 rooms.
There was a hawaiian room. There were a couple of cardboard palm trees, people wore leis, there was a giant cardboard sun on the wall and they served mai tais. Piles of fruit made some of the decorations too. Mai tais are easy to make and can be stretched far with cheap alcohol to serve lots of people. Hawaiian music was played. They served a fruit tray but I can't remember what else.
There was a french room. A poster of the Eiffel Tower was on an easel. French music was playing. One of the frat guys was doing mime stuff. Cheap red wine was served. They didn't want to have real french food so it was french fries, french bread, french toast, etc. Guys serving wine had little berets and fake skinny mustaches
There was a mexican room which seemed to be one of the favorites. Chips and salsa were served and there was a mini taco bar. Sombreros were around the room. The guys working at the bar wore sombreros. There were maracas laying around which everyone played with. All kinds of latin music played. People were constantly doing a conga line, the limbo, etc. Some pinatas were hanging from the ceiling. Margaritas were available.
The last room was Japanese. There were people with Japanese flag headbands. A girl at the bar was dressed as a geisha. All kinds of pillows were on the floor and they had creaded a fake paper wall. They played Japanese music and had a Japanese rock garden in the corner made out of a sandbox and rocks with a little rake. People enjoyed rearranging the rocks and garden and raking the sand. They had paper parasolsand there was They had saki to try but the primary drink was a thing they called Japanese Tea which resembled Long Island Iced Tea. They served it in little paper tea cups, it was fairy potent. For food, there was a thing that looked like sushi but it had no raw fish. It looked and tasted great but probably was fairly inexpensive. It was sticky rice rolled like sushi with cucumber, carrot and avocado in the middle with a little piece of fake crab meat. They had the candied ginger and soy sauce. They also had fried wontons.
