We did this and it was awesome!. When we bought our house we redid the basement into a bar/entertaining area and did a bar stocking party!. The invite was something like:
We've renovated our new home to make it a great place for family and friends to enjoy!. Please bring a bottle of your favorite liquor or mixer to stock the bar and we'll always have your preferred drink on hand!.
