Cake Decorating Home Business & Parties?
Does anyone know of a specific cake decorating business that allows you to do parties and sell through a catalog (supplies, bakeware, etc...)? I love baking & decorating and wondered if there were any businesses out there that would allow me to make some money by doing parties. Thanks for your thoughts!

If you are talented and make super cakes I would tell you to find a small coffee bar and ask them to sell your cakes by the piece for you. Approach them with a free cake made up super pretty and sit back and watch and see how it does. Most people eat with their eyes and not with their tongues. Your sitting and drinking a cup of coffee and watching will let you see how much they are selling your cake for and allow you to price your cake at about 3/4 of what they are going to bring in from the cake. We weren't in the business of bake goods but we worked a bingo and baked so that it could be sold. The profits went to the school. We did this a lot, when the people would see me unloading they would ask if my wife was working to night and had she baked. What I am telling you is people remember what is good and pretty. If you can go to a bakery supply and order your own boxes with your bakery name on the box, like, "Cakes by Betty" people will see this and remember put a telephone number on the box as well. Go to a bridle shop and ask if you can put up a small sign saying, all Occasions, Cakes by Betty call 555-8765 you could get engagement announcement parties, wedding, bachelor parties birthday, anniversary party's I think you get the drift and before you know it you won't work for any one but you..........Good luck and God bless
what ever state start at bridal shows just to see how they work. Once you can get some wedding, you can network at the wedding, there are always working people at large weddings
