i wanna throw a unique, grand party. so got any ideas

A friend recently had an Oscars party - that was pretty grand! Everyone dressed as movie stars, there was an awards ceremony, Elvis impersonator - even star-shaped signs on the toilet doors!
go to a hotel stay in a suite with all ur bffs and then go jet skiing and stuff on the beach and itll b fun im doing it for my bday
If you have a grand budget, hire a party planner or at least have the food catered.
First, decide how many people you want to invite and assess how different the people are and what they might have in common.
Wine tastings are fun for a small group. Be sure to rent, borrow, or buy plenty of real wine glasses. No plastic. Go to a big liquor store and ask advice or check on-line for information. Keep food simple.
Whatever you do, keep it simple. Have plenty of food and drink but make sure that you're not in the kitchen all evening preparing those magnificent hors d'oeuvres. Also, be sure to have a plan to take care of anyone who over indulges in alcohol.
Theme parties are fun...Mardi Gras, St. Pat's, etc.
We have an "occasional" Chili & Beer party for my husband's birthday. Everyone brings a pot of their favorite chili and a carton or two of beer (the more exotic and obscure, the better). We provide all the chili toppers (cheese, sour cream, crackers, chopped onions, etc. and a table full of different hot sauces). Everyone tastes all the chili and whatever beer they want and votes for their favorite. We have prizes. Of course, my husband's votes count the most. In the end, we dump most of the chilis all together (some, like the white chicken chili and the shark chili have to stand alone) and pig out! It's great fun and not a lot of work.

I love theme parties. Pick a theme and run with it. i.e. the 70's, famous couples, international, taboo, etc.
