Question:

House warming party suggestions??????

Answers:
Pretty paper cups, napkins, toothpicks, invitations and plates. Order a sheet cake from Cosco or Sams. Always good. Offer soft drinks, some diet drinks, beer and wine. Make coffee if your friends drink it. For the coffee, have Coffee Mate & sugar. Get plenty of ice. Have the party around 5 PM and have an ending time too if you want to. Buy meatballs, crackers, soft and hard cheeses, shrimp with cocktail sauce, fresh fruit, small ham sandwiches, and dip and chips. Have bowls of popcorn & peanuts. If you have a ficus tree or one that isn't very large, string small white lights on it. Have a welcome sign on the front door. Have fun.

2 kegs

pour some crab meat into a bowl with ranch dressing and Philly cheese and fridge overnight. Serve with crackers

Hot toddy is a cozy drink. If you live some place that is pretty cold right now (I am in AZ, been wearing gym shorts all day).

Anyhow

Hot Toddy;
100 Proof Southern Comfort
Fresh lemon juice or sours mix
Some very concentrated plain hot tea (stay away from flavors & black tea).

Mix it all to taste, then put it in the biggest pot you have on top of the stove to simmer (if it bubbles you will cook all the booze out of it).

If you do this you should also have a fire.

Have a "Southern Living Magazine" rep come to your house and do presentation - its like a tupperware party but better! great stuff! Of course you have to make/purchase finger foods - but as a hostess you get to keep many of the presentation items and a huge discount on any items you purchase for your home. And if you are lucky, your friends will buy you a housewarming gift from the catalog!

if your were a parent i would have a cake that said glad your gone.......(HAHAHA) joking

have it in the home so there can be lots of photos with lots of memories
hang signs that say welcome home since this is becoming their new home

foods well thats endless and well have a good time make sure that everyone is having a decent time (some people just don't do parties so give them a break)
do the best you can and thats all any one should expect

If you need decorating, buy some paint rollers and brushes. Invite guests over for a painting session along with music and wine. Then supply fish and chips when finished!

Try to have it outdoors, you don't want to be cleaning up your place too soon after moving in! Usually people will bring a house warming gift, so if they ask you what you would like, why not just say, bring yourselves, what you want to drink and nibbles. If they all do this, you can supply a bar-b-q and share in a relaxing get-together without all the worry!

I would recommend for food: chili because it is cheap to make and you can make tons of it in a short time. Also get some cheese and sausage trays, crackers, veggies and dill dip, taco dip and corn chips, spinach dip and dip, a cookie and brownie tray, soda ( regular and diet) , coffee or lemonade. Make it simple and have fun!
