What would you have in an ideal salad bar?!

Question:

What would you have in an ideal salad bar?

I'm trying to help overhaul my University's salad bar contents (as there is not a lot and it gets monotonous). What would you have in a salad bar if you had unlimited options, but wanted it to remain healthy?

Answers:
Mixed greens lettuce
chick peas
tomatos (not cherry i dont' like those)
cucumber
red onions
pepporocini
shredded chedder cheese
feta cheese
bacon bits
artichoke hearts
heart of palm (or palmettos)
alfalfa sprouts
olives (black and kalamata)
chicken bits
crutons
cottage cheese
beets
shredded carrots
bell peppers
mushrooms

Well in mine:

All different types of lettuce, and various salad veggies like tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, etc for a make your own salad

A variety of dressings and toppings like cheese (feta, Parmesan)

Some Caesar salad

Some potato and macaroni and other pasta salads

Some fruit salad

Some cut up veggies with some different dips

And the extras like pickles, olives, cold shrimp with seafood sauce, beets, cheese, deviled eggs.

You have to have bacon bits! Lettuce, tomato, cheese, all of the dressings, onion, Olive, egg, ham, chicken, carrot , I can go on and on, but to let you know salad isn't as healthy as you think, it can actually be bad for you if you eat too much

Visit Ryans and look at their salad bar.. select the things that are in the *affordable* range for your school.. Ryans has nothing but the most popular items AND they have already done the research for you...

GO FOR IT...

Good for you, I won't eat in a place that doesn't have a decent salad bar which, to me, includes

Beets, red onions, sunflower nuts, cottage cheese (salad dressing too fattening).

THE MOST IMPORTANT Lettuce of different varieties for taste and texture, usually cafeterias buy some cheap mix that tastes like wax!

cherry tomatoes, cheese, broccoli

And an individual serving spoon for each item so one tong is not passed from place to place.

Thank u for caring.

buffalo wings, steak, chicken, and pudding

chesse is a most. sunflower seeds are always good. crackers are okay lots of choices for dressings. Aspargus is a differnt approach that everyone will like served cold and cooked. nuts if there are no allergys. i've even had fresh cherries and apples on salad with a sweet vingrette.ummm

i would have a cold pasta with mayonnaise, chopped cooked bacon bits, chopped onion, garlic, and red pepper

lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, mushrooms, cheese, chickpeas, sunflower seeds, and beets
