Any ideas for pink food for girls christening party?

Im organising my daughters christening and she is a huge pink fan.We want the menu to have a pink theme, but are stuck for ideas. We live in cyprus but are returning to uk for the christening , so time for preperation will be limited. The cake is sorted, but theonly other ideas we have are boring pink fairy cake icing and prawns with thousand island dressing!!! Any ideas would be a life saver!!

Hi there tricity 100,
Pink marshmallows, add a few drops of red food dye (cochineal) to lemonade, rice. Prawn voluvents, pink mousse, Melt some white choclate in a bowl over boiling water in a saucepan, add a drop of red food dye.....pink choclate. Raspberry angel delight. Slices of ham, chipolatas wrapped in a rasher of bacon, mix a little tomato ketchup with salad cream for a sauce to go on a salad etc.
Hope this helps, and leads to a few more ideas! Hope your daughter has a great time at her christening and party! All the best! :o) x

those pink wafer biscuits/raspberry jelly/angel delight in strawberry flavour/ice gems - pick all the pink ones out!/strawberry jam sandwiches/skips look pinky coloured...

Party Ring biscuits - they have pink ones in.
Battenburg and Angel Cakes have pink layers in.

For my neice's birthday we made pink pairy cakes and then we decorated them with what looked like flowers made from marshmallows. If you buy a bag of marshmallows (pink and white) and get a pair of scissors and slice off pieces of the marshmallow about 0.5cm thick they will sort of curl up on the edges and look like flower petals.
Make sure you slice from the shortest side of the marshmallow - not long ways.
We put a jelly sweet in the middle of the cake and then surrounded it with the marshmallow petals to look like a flower. It was so cute and effective.

Buy another bag of marshmallows. Melt some chocolate in a pot on the stove, then half dip the marshmallows in the chocolate (just use your fingers to dip them in), lay them on some greaseproof paper and sprinkle with "hundreds and thousands".

Of course there is also red jelly and you could make some jelly moulds??

Have fun!!

Red food colouring is a god send and you will be able to colour most things, try adding it to coleslaw, potato salad, and most of the buffet type foods, at first it will look a bit odd but doesn't change the taste, use lots of ribbon and balloons, table clothes can all be pink as can the napkins, it is possible to get pink plastic cutlery, then with all that hopefully she won't notice the odd coloured things such as lettuce etc: but most of all have fun and enjoy what the day is about. Enjoy!

pink lemonade

rosehip iced tea (with sliced lemons)

fruit salad: strawberries, watermelons, melons, peaches, bananas, plums, edible pink rose petals (dunno if the kids would eat these, though)

do you know those buns with the pink icing (not the boring ones) 'French Fancies'. God they're lovely. And bacon fries for crisps, they'd probably be the closest you'd get to pink. Can't think of anything else

"Pink" food and drink possibilities include:

- Pink Panther shake: In a blender, mix 2 cups milk, raspberry jam and 3 to 4 scoops vanilla ice cream. Pour in a tall glass; garnish with fresh berries.

- Pink cupcakes or cake: Add 2 or 3 drops of food coloring to a white cake recipe or mix.

- Pink frosting: Add a few drops of red food coloring to frosting ingredients until the desired shade of pink is achieved.

- Pink whipped cream: Add a few drops of red food coloring to whipped cream or whipped topping. It's particularly pretty on a goblet filled with fresh strawberries sprinkled with sugar.

- Pink cream puffs: Mix a small amount of raspberry puree or preserves into the whipped cream filling for cream puffs.

- Pretty pink punch: Mix 2 (12-ounce) cans pink lemonade concentrate and 6 cups water in a punch bowl. Add 4 (12-ounce) cans lemon-lime soda. Just before serving, add scoops of strawberry sorbet or raspberry sherbet.

- Pink fruit dip: Use strawberry or cherry yogurt as dip for fresh fruit (strawberries with stems or fruit kabobs).

Amongst the food you could fill a low rounded glass bowl with water and add pink floating candles and pink lillies/flowers to decorate.

In terms of drinks, you can buy pink Cava from Asda for your guests. Also, you can buy a pink grapefruit squash that is pink in colour.

You could also get sort of pink coloured appetisers by using bacon - i.e. pigs in blankets. I also had very good appetisers before- bacon/cheese parcels. Simply chunks of cheese cooked inside a small bits of bacon. This gives you some savoury appetisers as well as sweet. Beetroot is also sort of pink/purply in colour.

For a baby shower, I went to a Party Supply store and bought some baby type molds, rattles, rocking horses, etc. You can buy pink melting chips. All you do is melt the chips and spoon into the molds, let set in the frig. and pop them out. Very easy and you have professional looking candies. They were great and everyone thought I'd bought them.
