Party food?!

Question:

Party food?

throwing a party soon, what is the things you are most likly to eat at a party from the party food?
and what do you always see at the end of the night thats hardly been touched?

Answers:
The most successful party food I've experience is stuff that came out in stages. Yes, there was the requisite bowls of chips, salsa, nuts and such, but there were also unique things such as chicken satay on skewers, mini mozarella balls with cherry tomatoes and basil on long toothpicks, stuffed green chilis, mini tamales, miniature Smithfield ham sandwiches on tiny corn muffins with a good dijon mustard....and so on. You don't have to go all out to have a great party. Think about what YOU like to eat when you go and base your foods around that. Think in terms of hot, cold, and room temperature. Here are some things that I serve:

1. Hot Artichoke and Crab dip with Blue Corn Tortilla Chips
2. Cheese platter with Spanish Manchega, Cambozola, Brie
with mushrooms, Smoked Gouda, White Cheddar and
a variety of crackers, such as Carrs, Hawaiian Crackers,
Triscuits, Lavosh etc.
3. Salsa and Scoops! corn tortilla chips
4. Fresh vegetable tray with baby tomatoes, celery, carrots,
cauliflower, edamame, and ranch and Catalina dressings
5. Fresh asparagas, cooked crisp-tender and wrapped with
prosciutto
6. Thin slices of pepper salami spread with goat cheese and
rolled and secured by toothpicks
7. Chicken drumsticks, teriyaki and Buffalo
8. Brownies, cupcakes, cookies

Have fun!

chineese food
mmmmmmmmm

doritos, potato chips, pizza, cake and some candy

Dips look messy after a few minutes. Messy food is unappetizing.
Stuffed mushrooms, boiled shrimp, scallops wrapped in bacon, all these are party standards because everyone loves them.

the thing at the end of the night that never gets touched is the drunken woman/man whos been behaving like a t##t

Healthy food is always left over. The fruit and veggie trays are always there at the end of the night while all the fattening greasy food is gone. If people will be drinking they tend to prefer junk food like chips and pizza.

hey you can put pikata or macaroni pepsi you can actually make it in coci cola world so i would like you to be my friend my email is jeena_elhussiny@yahoo.com

i always eat the sausage rolls,voul a vents,cheese and pickles on sticks,mini sausages,pizza,pasta,chicken drumsticks.pakora

Never really touch quiche,sandwiches,crisps

chips, pop, pizza

baked potatoes always go down well with all the fillings like cheese, beans, tuna, chilli.......

sandwiches are ALWAYS left so dont overdo them- do not enough....

also, make ur own mini pizzas with a french bread stick, tomato puree and cheese! slice ur bread and toast on one side(this will be unnderside) then a spread of puree and grated cheese then grill that side- take two mins.....

could do ur own garlic bread too

check out www.foodnetwork.com and click on the tab marked "party ideas". There are tons of tasty choices!!

Anything really! Sausage rolls , sandwiches , sweets , crisps!

I always go for the nuts first.
Then the savouries.
Not keen on sandwiches.

What is left our party are the gateaus.
No one wants them.

take torilla wraps and spread cream cheese on them (Flavored cream cheese is good) and then put ham or turkey and favorite type of cheese. Then roll them up and cut and it looks like little pinwheels. They are declious.
Also take refried beans and spread them on a platter, then brown hamburger meat and out taco seasoning in it. Mix sour cream with a little taco seasoning. Spread that on the refried beans. Then put the hamburger mixture on it. Then sprinkle with mexican blend shredded cheese. Then put tomatoe, black olives, green onions, japlenos, if desired. Serve with torilla chips.
Hope this helps out .

There are many factors involved that you need to clarify first. Do you just want to serve bite-sized snacks or are you going for full meals? Who is attending? What kind of crowd are you dealing with?

I'm going to assume you just wanna make snacks and keeping it simple.

Now ask yourself, what kind of crowd is coming to this party? Make an assumption of the majority of people that are coming and plan you menu accordingly.

Now these are just generalizations we used in school, they are not necessarily true but its something to think about.

-A lot of kids... chips, pretzels mini sandwiches
-A lot of guys... something hearty
-A lot of women... maybe something lighter
-Mixed crowd... little bit of everything

Simple hors d'oeuvres will work fine for any party.
Popular dishes like pigs in a blanket, potato skins and vegetable platters also known are crudites are usually choice for get-togethers.

I hope this sparked some ideas for you. Good luck with your party.

P.S. As for leftovers... with most veggies you can throw them in a pot with broth and make a soup. But in most cases its usually either eat it or toss it.

First of all, I would be a little leery of Jeena lee, or whatever her name is. Anyway, the food depends on if you have a theme for your party. If no theme, then the foods people like are not always chips and dip. Today, a lot of people are health conscious. A veggie platter with dip is good. I love them. Usually it's the first thing to go in my family. Small finger foods are good. Desserts that are small enough to eat with your fingers. Believe it or not, people like eating with fingers. Pigs in a blanket are really good and so easy to make. Cocktail wieners in a sweet sauce is great, cheese and crackers of different kinds. Meat platters are usually the last to go, but some do like them. You just end up with a lot of meat at the end of the night. Fruit platter with strawberries, grapes of various kinds and a sweet dip to go with them. When I put these out at a party, it's the first thing to go.

Dont do pasta stuff as that is always left. I would do easy and quick nibbles stuff like chicken legs and crisps just remember dont do too much

anything as long as it has some drugs in it. seriously. better party. really. now i've got the munchies

Spinach and Cheese triangles made with Phyllo Dough will disappear super-fast..

Left-Overs are usually an oversized bowl of burnt baked beans..

Good foods:
cheese & pineapple on sticks....
or cheese and small pickled onions....
and egg & mayo sandwiches in nice soft breads

Things that are hardly touched:
Unidentified parcels: little parcels that'r filled with meaty stuff
Curled up or dried up sandwiches
Crisps

it all depends wat kind ov party your having if it's a kind ov dinner party then chinese food will be perfect. but if your throwing a party for alot ov people then i would suggest 3 kinds ov sarnie's, sausage rolls, pizza slices, bowls ov crisps and nuts, some cheese pie's and cornbeef pie's,scotch eggs cut in half, i always cook chips and put them in a bowl there always the first to go, cook some scampi and onion rings, chicken drumsticks. and only put a tomato dip and a garlic dip out as to many they'll not get eaten and there's alot ov other things you could put out but don't put rice or salad out and if you do only put small bowls out. hope i've given you some ideas have a great time at your party.

Lard sandwiches!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they're cheap to make and fill your guest up, QUICK!

different types of cheese and crackers ,Hawaiian bread and spinach dip or simply sensations makes a bacon bacon dip (it is really great and easy to)also garlic dip.or hacienda dip with sociable crackers .Rachel ray is good at these ideas !!! The thing i see left over often is pre made sandwiches --store bought.

I like having out at least 2 differant dips ( taco and spinach ) and a veggie plater with dill dip, chips, sausage and cheese, crackers. I would not recommend spreddable cheese, it doesn't go over. Soda ( regular and diet ).

There's some really yummy and cheap Sweet Hawiian King rolls at Wal-Mart and get a few pounds of assorted meats and cheeses. It's not too pricey and it's always a hit at my parties. If that fails Chick-Fil-A caters. Those are the things that go the fastest. Veggies are normally what's left except for what's been picked over by my vegetarian friends.

fruit tray chesee tray meat tray chip sandwich brownie

i would put out chips, a fruit platter, and we usually buy those little chicken nuggets from chick-fil-a and everyone goes crazy over them!
