Birthday Party?!?!?!
My little sis is turning 12 in November and she wanted me (of all people) to plan it!. Well, I have a bit of a problem!. I don't know what kind of party!. She wants stuff for the local animal shelter instead of gifts but she doesn't want an animal theme!. She kinda wanted a disco themed party but I just don't know!. What theme of party should she have and what will the guests do at the party!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you are having a DJ and a dance, you don't really need much more activities!. I am not sure how open kids are at that age about gettiing out there and dancing with boys!. Not sure if you are talking about doint this at home or renting a small hall or what!. My daughter is 16 and they still love pinatas!. I mean stuff it with a bunch of the popular sour, liquid, and gum and you cant go wrong!. I think at these ages it is more fun watching your blindfolded friends trying to hit it than really getting the candy!.
Twister is fun for a boy/girl party!.
Another game would be to buy those glow in the dark stars and hide them around the room before the party!. Then turn out the lights ands have people find them!. Whoever finds the most gets a prize!.
also the timing of your party is important, we had our sweet 16 from 6-10 p!.m!. so we did not have to serve a big meal!. also renting a hall on a Saturday is half the price than on a Fri or Sat
Here is our appetizer experience in case you need help with food:
We just had our sweet 16 and had to use a caterer in order to get the hall but you can make everything yourself!. We had 45 people!.
We ordered a fruit tray, cheese tray, veggie tray, taco dip and chips and silver dollar sandwich rolls!.
No one touched the veggie tray!. The cheese tray was 1/3 eaten!. The taco tip went over great and had to be restocked twice, the fruit tray went over great, and the silver dollar rolls went over great!. They were ham, turkey and beef!. These are hand size and perfect and I saw the rolls for this at the grocery store!.
Anyway, so if I were you I would make a small cheese tray, make a double batch or taco dip, and have a good fruit tray and make the silver dollar rolls!.
These are all simple to put together!.
Taco Dip:
2 softened cream cheese!.
1 16oz sour cream
1 packet taco seasoning!.
Mix with mixer!. Put in bottom of a cookie sheet!. Top with shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and green onions!. Use the cheese but you can altered the rest to your taste, maybe add black olives!. Make 2 of these!. Serve with tostitos scoops!.
Fruit bowl,!.
Whole pineppple into chunks!. Slice strawberries!. Add whole table grapes no seeds, add chunks of watermelon, and cut oranges in slices cut into triangles!. This is best made the night before so that the juices can all run together and stir before serving!.

It is just shaved deli meat and cheese triangles!. You dont have to put lettuce on them, ours did not have it!. t!. The ones that we had catered just had real butter on them and they had mayo and mustard packets on ice on the side!.
puppy chow: All kids love this!!!

1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup butter
12 ounce chocolate chips
2 cups powdered sugar
Melt peanut butter, butter and chocolate chips together in the microwave or on the stove!. Stir into cereal!. Put powdered sugar in a paper sack!. Put cereal mixture in and shake until well coated!.
Other themes:
Movie Night Party!. Oriental trading has cool decorations for this includint tableware, pinata, wall signs, tableware, banner, invites and so much more!. You could tell everyone on the invite to wear costumes of movie stars!. or if you wanted you could make it be more like a movie night premeier and have everyone dress up!.

i'd say rent aplace like a little ballroom!.or if u have a really big room in ur home!.!.decorate with disco balls and get tables and cover them up in table cloths!.!.!.make a buffet filled with chips and pizza!.!.and other foods !.!. invite girls and boys and ask ur sister to ask one of the guys to be a dj!. have a 60's best costume and give a prize!.get 60's music!. u can have games if u like!. definitly dancing ,, good luckWww@FoodAQ@Com
Why dont you do a 80s party!. Decorate the place up really bright, lots of fluro colours etc!. Play music from the 80s!. And just have people hanging out, dancing, chatting, etc!. Have food set out for people to nibble on!. =DWww@FoodAQ@Com
