Answers:
I find a big pot of tasty chilli with rice always goes down well. You could make some coleslaw to go with it, serve a big dish of green salad, some crusty bread, a feast, and not too expensive. Enjoy!

pasta is always good and cheap...

Just make a really tasty caserole. You can buy cheao meat and cook it really slowly on low for ages, 3 or 4 hours, and it will be fab! Serve with rice (V. cheap) and beer! not wine. A very good night indeed! x

For the meat eaters do a sausage casserole using best sausages, mushrooms and onions and a Coleman's sausage casserole sauce mix. Serve with jacket potatoes.
For the veggies do a vegetarian lasagna with mushrooms, and gougettes using a Ragu sauce mix and lasagne topping sauce.
All easy peasy and delicious

Fire up the grill & make shish kabobs!
You can skewer them well before the party, and they are healthy & beautiful.

Marinate meat cubes in fat free Italian dressing (chicken, beef, pork, turkey, even shrimp!). Skewer the pieces with cut-up onion, green, yellow & red peppers, small whole mushrooms, zucchini slices, and cherry tomatoes.

When they are done, serve with rice & crusty french bread.
YUMMY!

A chilli or a curry so easy and all in one pot rice can be kept warm and garlic bread in the oven I have always done this and have had no complaints

How about a lasagna, side salad and hot crusty bread,Easy to make and do.

Just prepare it all in advance so you are not cooking while your guests are there - and nothing that needs too much faffing around with once its cooked - its your party too!

I usually make a curry or chilli the night before (tastes nicer the day after anyway) or make some home made pizzas that can be made in the afternoon and then just thrown in the oven with some garlic bread as your guests arrive.

Try doing Chicken skewers!

Diced chicken
onion
peppers
mushrooms
different dips ie barbecue, salsa and sour cream
\grated cheese and wraps too. LOVELY!

I love to make lasagna. You can make as easy or as hard as you wish, and the great thing is that you can have it in the oven before your guests arrive and enjoy their company!

Go with a one dish wonder:
chicken and noodles,
shrimp etoufee
White chicken tortilla chili
Crawfish bisque and crab cakes
