How many place cards do you need to put on table?!

Question: How many place cards do you need to put on table!?
I am having a dinner reception!. I need to put seat cards near each plate where I want each guest to sit!. Do I need two sets of cards, 1 on the main table so people will know what table to sit at!? And, having the other set of place seat cards already at the table!?
Or could I just put number cards on the table and let each guest pick their name from the main table, then seat themselves anywhere they like!? The reason I want control over the seating is because my father and mother are divorced and can't stand each other!. So I need to place them back to back from each other!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
No, just one set on the table with names should be sufficient!. Usually you would stand at the door and say "Hi, you're seated over in the far corner" or wherever!. Hope that helps answer your question!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can do it either way!. It depends on what else you need to do!.

If you have time to set out the place cards at each table, then you can do both!. But it is time consuming to consult your seating chart and place all those cards!.

I never have that sort of time!! So I would suggest that you just put a number each table and then a card on the main table telling them which # table to go to!.

And the good thing about that is they can decide, when they get to the table, who they want to sit next by!.

Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you have family members that need you to seperate them then use to sets of cards with table number cards as well!. If everyone is happy and gets along well I would let them seat themselves!. Good luckWww@FoodAQ@Com

Have one seating plan on a board near the door and a place card for each guest where you want them to sit!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
