How can i make my sweet 16 cost alot less????!

Question: How can i make my sweet 16 cost alot less!?!?!?!?
ok so im prollygonna have a sweet 16 in april and today itold my mom we should just have a big bbq cuz i am unlike most teenagers and i am actually caring about how much my parents spend !. my mom and dad really wanna do this for me tho and when i told my mom she said she thinks we still should get a hall and a dj!. i really wanna cit back tremendously on pricing!. what can i take out!?

we have these ideas for what we are gonna have:
-hall
-dj
- 75-100 ppl
-cake
-centerpieces
-streamers & balloons
- table cloths
-silverware
-keepsake for guests
- drinks
-sign in book
- invitations
-disposable camers on each table

so far i am thinking that we could have 50 or less ppl, dont get it catered, no disposable cameras,no sign in book,no keepsake for guests and trying to think of another area for it to take place!

do you know any *cheap places!?
in tempe or phx az!!

please help me!

sorry if its long!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can get cheap decorations from Oriental Trading!.com My daughter has her sweet 16 this year!. We started planning and I have been buying all of the little stuff like napkins, cups, streamers a little at a time adn put them in a box!. That way I am spreading the cost over several months and not all at one time!. You have a lot of time until April!. Get your theme and then start getting the stuff you will need!. They get the food and catering when the time comes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If I were you I wouldn't get it catered, I don't think 16 year olds notice really what type of food is at a party just as long as it is a good party! I suggest bringing big bags of chips and candy and bottles of soft drink etc!. also, maybe just get like a couple of disposable cameras and get your parents or you to go around taking photos, as cameras may go missing! Whatever you do, take a camera! A 16th birthday is one to remember!!!

Good luck!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'd say leave out the expensive centerpieces, keepsakes and disposable cameras!. Lots of people will bring digital cameras, and you should, too!. Don't need the disposables!. The keepsake for your guests can just be your pretty invitation if they want to keep it!.

Keep the hall and DJ if your parents insist!. Cut back on the food!. If the hall will let you bring in your own food, do that!.

If you really want a BBQ in your yard, tell them to use the extra money to fix up the yard - maybe build a deck or something!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
