Answers:
bachlorette parties can go either way- tasteful or tacky- and each can be a great time!
if you'd like to do something outside the home you could always look into some type of boat tour or renting a pontoon boat on a lake or river for some relaxing fun, maybe a dinner cruise or cocktail cruise (we have them here in Milwaukee) or maybe a trip to a local comedy club for some laughs or a nice bar on top of a building downtown maybe for a few drinks!.
if staying in you could always have a spa night where everyone does nails (or you can hire someone to come do nails or chair massages), facials, makeup tips, parfin wax baths, foot baths- anything spa related!. you could get a cheap pair of flip flops for each guest as a party favor and maybe some lip gloss or nail polish or something in a little goodie bag!. have light foods like finger sandwiches, smoothies or margaritas, veggie trays and fruit salad!.
how about hiring a hula dancer or belly dancer to give lessons at the house or little more risque- a pole dancing lesson from an instructor!
you could hire a tarot card reader to give fortunes or palm readings
for my one friend we just went out to eat (located in a mall) then we went window shopping then stopped at another place for dessert (cheesecake factory yum!) then headed to a local bar by her house for a few drinks- it was a nice casual night out!. we started off at her house for drinks (martinis) and she opened gifts!.
one nice game/decoration is the tree of wisdom!. get some large branches and stick them into a vase so it looks like a little tree!. then you cut out hearts from colored paper and hang them from the tree (I used small pieces of pipe cleaner to make a little hook) then each guest will write down words of wisdom for the bride to be (either naughty or nice words of advice!)!. it looks rally pretty as a centerpiece on a table and you can send the hearts home with the bride as a memento of her party!. you can also buy a martini or wine glass for each guest from the dollar store and decorate them with a paint pen in the wedding colors and use those as party favors for them also!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Look around your area for a public park or scenic overlook!. If there's a flower garden, so much the better!. Use that as a setting for an elegant picnic!. If your budget would allow a rental, you could also check for local historical homes or museums that will rent you an area or space!.

Serve individual quiches, or finger sandwiches made from small sub rolls filled with tuna, chicken, or egg salad!. I had this artichoke and leek quiche at a party and it was fantastic: http://www!.epicureantable!.com/recipes/Q/!.!.!. If you're in a public place, you can't serve alcohol, so serve lemonade or iced tea!. Otherwise, you could do white wine spritzers (wine with club soda, or maybe peach schnapps) or Alize, a pretty, self-contained (no need for mixers) alcoholic drink!.

For a centerpiece, you can go small-scale with inexpensive potted plants with tiny blooms from the local nursery!. These can go home with your guests as gifts!.

With a pretty location, you can concentrate on conversation; you don't need to plan games!. Talk about memorable first dates, who's known the bride the longest, and handling mothers-in-law!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

When gal pals of mine have gotten married !.!. their close friends get together and each buy her a nice peice of lingerie !.!.!. We have a girls night in!.!. laugh!.!. cry!.!. talk!.!.!. eat!.!. drink a lil !.!. just lay back !.!. i think its nice for the bride!.!.!. she gets gifts and gets to hang out with her girls one last time as a single gal!.!. we play silly games!.!.!.we dont make it all about sex or anything!.!. its tons of fun!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

mani/ pedi's!. that's the simplest i think anyway!. or if you have the money, a full spa treatment for a day for a few close friends!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
