Neat Baby Shower ideas?!

Question:

Neat Baby Shower ideas?

I'm hosting a baby shower for my boss and I already have games and gifts planned. But I was wanting some creative ideas (decor or food ideas) so I can really impress everyone!

Answers:
brook shields had her party planner place rubber duckies on the water in the guests' water glasses. i don't know how it made the water taste, but it looked super cute. maybe a little "pond" of rubber duckies in the center of each table as a centerpiece? or maybe some little square building blocks.

as for food, you can't fail with a "baby" theme. baby back ribs, baby corn, baby carrots, etc. or change names like "mini sandwiches" to "baby sandwiches."

it sounds like fun! have a good time!

a simple idea: make home made lollipops in a baby theme using those colored melting chocolates. they make nice favors.

Do clocks - of all baby colors! Label them "Feeding time", "Nap Time", "Bedtime", "Snuggle Time", "Play Time", ect.........

Around the Clock Shower!

Have fun!

do everything baby themed. Baby shrimp appetizers. Take some puff pastry and mix the shrimp with some dill dip mix and cream cheese and stuff the puff pastry with it and bake. Baby carrots, baby back ribs...etc.

One shower I went to had a cake that said "Happy Labor Day" on it. I hosted a party that had a piggy bank set out for the baby. We encouraged people to put spare change in it to give to the baby. I also handed out envelopes to the thank you cards to each guest and had them write their address on the front of it, that way the mother-to-be wouldn't have to address all the envelopes and the addresses would all be right. After the shower I presented the envelopes (along with postage) to the mother-to-be. Another good idea is to have disposable cameras around for people to take candid shots (make sure they don't walk off with the cameras though). After the shower, you can get the photos developed and create a special photo album for the mother-to-be.

Best of luck.

I just went to baby shower and the food was GREAT! They had mini croissants filled with chicken salad (shredded chicken, mayo, garlic powder, green onion, toasted walnuts, sliced grapes, salt & pepper), pigs in a blanket-called babies in a blanket and served with an assortment of mustards (honey mustard, stone ground, chipotle, etc), and Pasta Salad - corkscrew pasta cooked/drained and tossed with italian dressing, cherry tomatoes, cubed cheddar & pepper jack, black olives, and diced pepperoni. They served iced tea, strawberry lemonade and punch made out of 7up, pineapple juice and sherbet.
For decor, if you know how the nursery is decorated, continue that theme.
If it will be a boy - decorate with planes, trains and autos. Maybe you or someone you know has a little red wagon you can use to "stage" a little scene with antique toys, or just pile up the gifts inside.
If it's a girl - disney princess stuff (they now make everything, and I do mean everything in disney princess), stuffed animals or various dolls. You could even get a clothes line to sting-up along the edges of the room and hang cute baby clothes you bought - at the end (or durring present time) tell the mom to be that the clothes are all hers.
Good luck and don't forget to have fun too!
