Party snacks something different?!

Question:

Party snacks something different?

I'm having a small dinner party and want to put snacks out after dinner. I am sick and tired of pretzels potato chips little pigs in a blanket little pizzas etc. Anyone have a realitively inexpensive snack ideas to put out? Thanks

Answers:
A fruit tray, fresh vegetable tray with dip,Teriyaki meatballs on a platter with little toothpicks stuck in them (you can get the frozen meatballs at Sam's Club or Costco reasonably priced), petit fors, mini-eclairs (also found at Sam's and Costco). Just thaw and serve. Hope this helps.

maybe little pizzas hard boiled eggs biscotti mozzerella sticks onion rings cheese fries

deviled eggs are the ****!!! trust me they will be a hit...and all you need is mustard mayonaise and eggs...very cheap...

Yes, deviled eggs are a good choice. You can also do something fun with popcorn/nuts...... just pop popcorn and get a can of mixed nuts and put it out in a bowl. In separate little cups next to it - let your guests have fun and season it up how they want. You can have a little cup of melted butter (that you can re-nuke in the microwave for a few seconds). Then have a selection of seasonings.....: a bowl of grated parmesan cheese; another with garlic powder or chili powder; maybe another with some cinnamon sugar and chocolate sprinkles; another with dried Italian herbs.

You can also take some of your normal snacks you usually serve like pretzels and dip them in melted chocolate and set out on wax paper to dry and put out a plate of regular and chocolate pretzels. That's fun.

Or how about a chocolate fondue? Put out some fruit and pretzels and let people dip their own. It's a great dinner party dessert, creates some fun and good conversation. People will have a great time!

buy or make something big and cut it up small, like pound cake and fruit topped with a whip cream, large sub into small pieces(bite size) egg rolls,
mini shrimp cocktails,
summer rolls
stuff french bread with a vegetable, cheese, maybe a meat like chicken, heat cut in thin slices and serve.
k.

Bruschetta - little italian toasts w/ maybe some mozzarella, procuitto, little slices tomatoes and basil (of course you could do it anyway you want)

Mini quiches- get a mini muffin pan and mix some eggs and other ingrediants as if you were making a big omeleete (ham, cheese, mushrooms, herbs.. again whatever you want) fill the muffin tins w/ this mixture and bake.

Mini wraps- fill wraps with your favorite ingrediants and slice into bite size pieces and arrange on a tray

Lettuce cups - fill pieces of lettuce with your favorite salad toppings and drizzle w/ a vinagrette (healthy too)

Make spinach and artichoke dip w/ little dipping croutons

Mini egg rolls- get wonton wrappers and coleslaw mix. Saute the coleslaw mix for a few minutes w/ a dash of soy sauce, garlic and ginger and fill wonton wrappers. (label will show you) pan or deep fry. Slice in half and serve with sweet and sour sauce

sliced fruits w/ dip- strawberries, pinapple, banana, kiwi
dip - mix cream cheese, whipped cream and marshmallow topping till smooth.

hope this helps!

why would you put out food after dinner? Just dessert or maybe some candies or fruit dipped in choc. Or do a fondue station with fresh fruits with a choc. fountain that they can help them self.

You know what is absolutely delicious and a hit everytime: garbanzos/chick peas dip. Take a can - drain it. Blend well in a cuisinart/food processor with some extra virgin olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper to taste. Blend to a nice consistency. Serve with crackers or pita slices. Yummo!
