Do I tip the chef if I won a dinner party?!
I attended a Food Show Seminar and won a gourmet meal!. The chef is coming to my house to prepare the meal for 4 including chicken, vegetables and a dessert!. While preparing the food he will give cooking tips!. He brings everything and I supply the wine and dinnerware!. After eating the meal I get to choose some cookware for being the winner!. The chef must drive at least 45 minutes to get to my home!. Do I tip the chef afterwards and how much!? This will be my first dinner party and I'm very excited about it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't know if he'll accept it, but that would be a nice gesture:) Probably the same 15-20% of what the meal would cost !.!.!.!.!.!.Or, you could buy him a bottle of whatever very nice wine you're getting for the meal!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I would tip the chef!. Seeings how you didn't have to pay for the services then you aren't losing out on anything!. If you are going to tip the chef it really should depend on the service he is giving you!. You can always call the place of business he works for and see what they recomend!. It is usually like 15% to even 20%!. Some companys don't allow it either so I guess it would be what you feel is rightWww@FoodAQ@Com
tipping anyone who provides a service for you is necessary!. or at least, my dad told me it was!. and speaking as he provides all the food, you definitely should!.
how much!? depends on his attitude, patience, and the meal itself!.
good luck, and have fun at your dinner party(:Www@FoodAQ@Com

I didn't tip my chef!. He donated his time to a charity and i won the charity raffle!. He cleaned every pan when he finished!. I did recommend him to anyone who wanted to have a party!. And i hired him again as a birthday present for a friend!. That friend gave his name out to 100 people!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Hmm, interesting question!. I would certainly think a tip is in order!. Maybe you could call someone involved with putting on the seminar and ask them if it is appropriate!. If you do tip, I would think at least $50!.00!.
