First set your theme so you can guide your guests to the correct dress and have a basic idea of decorating and table items!.

Decide if it will be indoors or out!.!.!. at your home or a rented facility!. Pavillions in parks rent very inexpensively!. Banquent rooms in hotels/motels really aren't that high !.!.!. some places even allow you to rent the pool side for parties and such!.

Now you are ready to start your list of people to invite!. Leave none of your friends out!.!.!. even if upset with them at the time as it will come back to haunt you in the years to come!.!.!. so true!.!.!.!.

Set a date that does not interfere with someones birthday unless this is a birthday party - lol

Finally you can send out invitations
Start pricing decorations and planning your menu if you have not done so already!. !.!.!. that is another question for you to ask later on!.!.

Good Luck and don't fret

I think if you are hosting a party, you would first need to decide the occasion or the theme!. Whether it is just a cozy get together or a big bash!. Once you think of the theme or occasion then you will know what you are going to serve at the party!. You can then decorate your house with that theme!. Think of the type of music you might want to play or the type of color schemes you want to use!. I think after that is done you can make a guest list and see how many people you can handle at your party!. Hosting a party is a lot to take on and it might be expensive as well!. Maybe you can consider a potluck and have everyone bring a dish but assign it so you don't have 5 of the same dishes!. An example would be one person bring a chicken dish, another a veggie dish, and someone bring a dessert!. you can make a couple of your best dishes and then serve things buffet style!. Even though you are hosting the party you don't want to be stuck in kitchen during the party!. I would suggest having a drink station where people can mix and serve their own drinks!. Hopefully this helps in some way, just remember that you want this party to be fun and memorable and not stressful!. So don't take on too much and just do what you can handle!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would get a basic idea of what you want to do before you send out invitations!.

- Decide around about how many people you are going to invite, and what kind of budget you have!.

- Choose a theme and decide what you are going to do at the party!.

- Write up a draft guest list!.

- Decide what you are going to do about food/drink, and think about whatever else you will need!.

Then re-evaluate how many people you want there, and who you want there!. If you had decided on a formal theme, you might want to take all the loud-mouths off your guest list!. If you decide it costs too much too feed everyone, then make your list smaller!.

Only then should you send invites out!. =D Have fun!Www@FoodAQ@Com
