My husband is turning 50. Any ideas on how best to celebrate?!

Question:

My husband is turning 50. Any ideas on how best to celebrate?

Answers:
Have a Fifties Party, ask your guests to wear fifties attire.
Examples: Poodle skirts, saddle shoes, bobby socks. Blue jeans rolled up with white socks showing. white t-shirt with leather jacket
Play 50's music. Have a dance contest. Also vote on the best costume. I suggest a party store for decorations. I went to one a few years ago, We had a blast. I dressed up as "Bad Sandy" (Sandy Is my name) from Grease. I won!

Hire him a belly dancer...my nephews did that for me on my 55th and even my wife enjoyed it !!!

hire him a stripper

Get dolled up, take him out for his favorite dinner at his favorite spot, have a few drinks, and then ask him what he'd like to do next ;-)

That's a big one. Have a surprise party or just throw a big celebration for him. Something over the top to make him feel special and not old.

depends on what he is like? outgoing, sense of humor? shy? prefer quiet nights at home? small get togethers or loud parties

I've suggested this before for party questions but maybe a "this is your life" theme.........posters with candid shots of the best moments in his life........the funniest moments.......with funny little comments about each pic.........

maybe rent a cabin by a lake and have a bbq and beach party?

or maybe have a 50's party? the music, the dances...all 50's themed....maybe have it themed..so people come dressed as if it WAS the 50's? candies from the 50's(if no candy store in your area just google 50's candy to find some ideas) etc etc ....maybe find at local library...news from the year he was born.......get some pics of cars of the 50's...have fun decorating...

Let's see that means he was born in 1957. He would have been teenage in the early seventies. I say hire some semi-retired disco king or queen to perform at a party hosted for him. No kidding, a lot of performers will do private parties. Something classier?? You could plan a special birthday trip to a "dreamed about " destination (his dream not yours) to be revealed at a dinner hosted by you....

surprise party
