How much do bat mitzvahs usually costs?!

Question:

How much do bat mitzvahs usually costs?

i am not having one, I mean the reception itself. Like the room costs, the food, etc. I just need to know for a sweet sixteen i'll be throwing later on. To be detailed, I would like to throw one around 5:00pm-1:00am. For fairly large room that can fit tables and a dance floor with 5 medium sized tables that can hold about 5-7 people. A D.J would be nice too. It doesn't have to be fancy. Has anyone had a bat mitzvah or a sweet sixteen that sounds like that? Please help me.

Answers:
So you want a fairly large room for eight hours? For 25 to 35 teens? What city? DJs can be $300 and up for three hours. Food and sodas $25 to $75. Room costs will vary and are usually for 4 hours or so.
Room costs are different in Beverly Hills than in Pocatello, Idaho. Where are you?
You really want a room for EIGHT HOURS?

i've heard any where from 5,000 dollars to 10,000 it all depends on the location usually if you go to a jewish temple to hold the party they ask for an amount to let you use the the temple if you rent a hall your looking at about 1,000 dollars and the first guy said it all depends on location i would look at spending at least 1,000 dollars if only you have 5-7 people coming but you will need to feed them and give them drinks for 5 hours and it should be roomy enough i've been in a place with 20 teens and it is hell

It depends on where you are located. First of all, very few venues will have a party that long. Generally you get about 4 hours. Understand there will definitely be a premium for the extra two hours.

It also depends on what season you will be throwing the party. If your birthday is during the wedding season expect to pay more if you want it on a Saturday. If your birthday is during the wedding season consider having your party on a Sunday.

Alright now for the nitty gritty. Depending on how lavish you would like it you can generally get a range from about $25 - 70 a person. Generally if you are in the $40 + range the location will be included in the price. Be careful though, because there are a lot of rules and regulations associated with this. Generally you can't decorate the way you like, can't bring in any food from outside sources (including your cake). There is also about a 15% - 18% gratuity and tax. A DJ for the evening will probably run about $400, plus if he/she is good a 10% tip is normal. So if you have 100 people at your party at $40 a person expect your venue, food and DJ alone to be about $5000. This does not include decorations, invitations, your dress, etc. Of course you can do it for less than this, but expect to get what you pay for.

If this is outside of your budget, I would think outside of the box. Do an internet search of the restaurants around you. Many of them have banquet rooms that would be less expensive. If it is a privately owned restaurant they are more likely to let you decorate the way you like. Often times clubs will let you rent out a room during off peak hours as well. Think about it as your signature event instead of a gala event!
