Is there a demand for cupcakes?!

Question:

Is there a demand for cupcakes?

I would like to start a small catering business based on cupcakes. I live in Denver where there are no cupcake bakeries, the market is almost untouched.

Does anyone think that this venture would work? Any suggestions for names? I love little humorous twists.

Nancy that is the greatest name!!!

I don't know about those Mile-High folks, but here in Los Angeles and environs, cupcakes are all the rage...even Mrs. Beasley's has jumped on the bandwagon.

Just be sure your frosting is PRIMO!

There's an old saying about one who has drunk a bit much...he's "in his cups"...

How about "In The Cups"...an addiction worth having!

Unfortuanatly I don't think it would work but I'm from a little town...I could get cupcakes at my local grocery store for a great price.

There are tons of just cupcake places in New York-it could work.

It could work...i have used little bakeries devoted to cupcakes of all sizes...I guess part of the demand could come from the marketing....good luck!

people love cupcakes and muffins...for breakfast or dessert or in birthday parties...you will have to make them on order for occasions

It could work. Some people even use cupcakes in lieu of wedding cakes these days.

But yes, they would need to be top-notch. Not like Grocery store cupcakes.

Names:

Ruffle Cups
Kewpie Cakes

I think it would work, but you'd have to market yourself wisely.
Also make sure you have a very good product. If it's something that you can get in a market people might not want them.
Make sure you have a really delicious frosting- try a french buttercream,
a good creamy cream cheese frosting and a sweet regular buttercream
and make sure that your cake is moist and tender.
If I think of any good names I'll post them later.
Also I live in Los Angeles county and even though cupcakes are all the rage there aren't any bakeries that sell them around here.

I think so.....in the last year or so I've seen a ton of cupcake shops open up over here in Seattle... I'd say go for it!!!

GO FOR IT

Great idea and why tell it to all of yahoo questions.. now maybe someone will beat you to the draw

You want a name that will appeal to the kids and that the adults will like

Cup-la Cupcakes
Cupcake Bakery of Denver
Denver Cupcake Bakery

SEW good luck in your venture it will work

Personally, I prefer cupcakes over sheet cakes. I think it's a fine idea. As far as names go... A Cup of Cake (instead of "a piece of cake" and since it's cupcakes... you get the idea).
