Any ideas for activities, games, contests? How should we decorate? This is for a community event.
Answers:
We host these socials pretty often. We get vanilla ice cream and all the toppings. Just set them out and let them create their own bowl.
Spray whip cream from a can on a paper plate top with a cherry and have a contest to see who can finish eating first. Go to your local party supply they have lots of cool deco you can use... just use your imagination. They will be happy with the ice cream.
Have a May pole. Potato sack race. Make root beer floats. Get a slip and slide.
limbo bean bag races or toss do it like a dinner with black an white checkers an have poodle skirts

Community event.Did anyone donate door prizes?if so,I have a wonderful game we played at a sorority social.A horse race game.It all goes with a deck of cards.Make a track with painters tape to mark out 4 lanes as long as you like.Each turn of a card sends that horse one step up.Have 4 people come up and get on the Ace,Spades,Clubs,and Hearts lane.The race begins when you shuffle the deck of cards and turn them over one at a time.Ace/ace horse takes a step up.One to get to end of the lane wins.We had play ponies and ribbons with cards suit to wear so others could cheer us on.Fun.We had the chapters sisters to bring wrapped gifts and as they won they took a gift.I hope I explained it it is a fun game...
Draw/design a creative picture of an ice cream cone. Have a "name the flavour" contest. People can vote for their favourite new name.
