If i want to be a party planner?!
If i want to be a party planner?
wat;s the best way to start? is there any money in it?
Answers:
There can be a lot of money in party planing and in catering. If you just want to plan parties, the first thing you have to do is know people, catering people, decoration suppliers, DJs, food and beverage suppliers. The you have to figure out how much you time is worth, $10 an hour, $15, $20?
Once this hurdle is over, make fliers and/or buy classified space.
The one thing you have to remember, a happy customer will tell as many as 5 friends, an unhappy customer will tell as many as 20 people.
Your the same fellow that makes his wine in a toilet! Not a good way to get started party planning! You might take a look at your local culinary institute in the management area and see if there is anything that might interest you. And, you might develop a taste for real wine, made in real vineyards, and put in real bottles! Takes a little class to be a successful party planner!
To make real money, you will need to build a portfolio. To get started, help friends out in exchange for references and take lots of pictures. Call area event planners and see if they will hire you. That way you can get a taste for the amount of work and if you really want to do this as a living. Gain their trust and see if they will start throwing small events your way to start. As you gain a reputation in the area, you can break out on your own. Good Luck.
well yeah there is money!
You will need to advertise, get contacts and suppliers
register a name for your business!
Tax detail
etc..
Start by getting a book, and do some research to see what skills you need to accomplish this goal. You can also get courses on line. Here's one to look at.http://www.fabjob.com/partyplanner.asp...
Definitely, you need money darling or you won't go anywhere.
