Is it okay to spend one month salary to celebrate one day birthday party?!

Question:

Is it okay to spend one month salary to celebrate one day birthday party?

I see some people spending lavishly on birthday parties even if they do not have savings in the bank.

Answers:
Why not spend it-if your young with many earning years ahead

Wow I don't think that's wise at all. Think about all that money gone that you worked so hard for gone in a day! I think it would be okay to set aside a portion from your paycheck to spend because it's your birthday, but not a whole month's salary.

I wouldn't recommend it, but is it all that different from spending it on a vacation or other intangible?

We all have different priorities for our money.

In a broken-down, unjust and totalitarian work marketplace in this country, I would regard such an expenditure as stupid, suicidal and quite probably demented.

And those are the idea's good points.

For my birthday, I read or listen to favorite music, watch VCR tapes, etc. for a month before my birthday. Then whenever we can get to it, my wife and I invite two friends if we can and either she or I cooks something special. presents? Sure. Something small she knows I'd like and money for old radio shows or movies or a book I've been wanting.

One month's salary?
Not even if we still had a constitution or a government.

I don't think it is a smart idea at all!! Why would someone want to spend all that money on a birthday party? I say they should just go with a sweet, simple and small celebration.

It's OK to do anything you want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else.

But nobody can answer this question for you but yourself. Everyone else is using their OWN personality, (values, beliefs, personal issues, etc.), to answer the question. Thus. anyone's answer will reflect what's right for them. Mine inlcuded.

If you feel this is something that will fulfill you in some way, then do it.

At the very least, don't not do it just because someone else's values conflicts with yours and they wouldn't condone it.

sure it only comes once a year
