What centerpieces should I use for my father's 60th birthday?
I have a few ideas (rocks, candles, water fountain, etc.), but I'm looking for others. Thanks in advance.

See if you can find a bunch of baby pictures and pics from his youth and place them in photo frames where you can view on both sides.
Potted flowers - we did this at party and they looked really nice and afterwards we sent one home with people that helped out with the party as a thank you.
For my Mom's 60th, we photocopied (in black & white) some pictures of her -- from all stages of her life. (We made 3x5 & for the buffet table, 5x7 pictures.) We then placed each picture into an inexpensive, matching picture frame (picked them up from the dollar store.) Then we made a sqare from four pictures (or you can do a triangle with three pics) leaving the middle open. We taped them together with heavy duty tape from the inside. We then put a candle in the center & when the candle was lit, the pictures glowed. It was gorgeous & people had a fun looking at all the different pictures.
I know this sounds nuts, but get some beta fish. You can get the fish, stones and the bowls for less than $10 each. Then you can use them for favors as well. I surrounded them with candles. It was recommended, thankfully because I had this plan, not to put mirrors on or around them. That would be a nasty scene.
For my father's 75th party, we used framed photos of him at varying ages, on tables throughout the room. When I sent out the invitations, I sent out a questionairre asking for stories about my dad and pictures or newspaper clippings..anything they could send. When everyone sent them in, I put them into a large scrapbook. It was beautiful. We put it on display at the party and everyone enjoyed flipping through it and remininiscing (sp?-sorry, it's early:). We then had a "roast toast" where everyone told funny stories on dad at the mic in front of the room. And finally, a slideshow, put together by my brothers and sisters.
The party was in a room at a country club where my dad had just played golf. The guys he played with suggested to stop in for a beer. When my dad walked in we all screamed, "Surprise!" He saw the banner on the wall and his out of town friends and relatives in the crowd. It was a great moment for us all!
I hope you enjoy your party!!!!
um.. depends what your father likes, if he likes music, put pictures of rock n roll legends and pictures of him in little frames, or something like that! or put flowers in a vase, but make it manly, make it a masculan vase lol!
