Answers:
on my daughter's first birthday she ignored all of the food except the pumpernickel dip, so I heartily recommend that!
have fun (and congratulations - you made it past the first year!)

They usually have a few teeth at that age, so you might be ok with apple slices, mini hot dogs, cheese stix, cup cakes, etc.

finger sandwiches
tray of veggies
fruit salad
small cupcakes or muffins
small pizzas
hotdog sandwiches
cake

I like making pasta dishes like bow tie pasta with sauce and mozerella on top. fruit salads, juice, and mini cookies.

Cold food ideas
Whole grain, cold cereal with whole milk.
Milk or yogurt shakes blended with fruit.
Yogurt with fresh fruit pieces or applesauce.
Yogurt with crackers or roti.
Rice and raisin pudding with whole milk.
Dessert tofu with fresh fruit.
Sandwiches made with egg, tuna, chicken salad, sliced cheese or tender meat.
Grated or small cubes of cheese with whole grain crackers.
Small muffins and orange wedges.
Whole grain crackers or rice cakes thinly spread with cottage cheese or mashed avocado.
Banana bread spread with cream cheese.
Whole grain toast spread with peanut butter, fruit puree, or non-hydrogenated margarine or butter.
Whole wheat pita and hummus.

I loved T-bone steak at that age. But I was weird.

Cold meat sandwhiches. Just buy buns, a few different kinds of deli meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoe, mayo, mustard, & have all the ingredients set out in their own seperate spot so guests can add what they like. You could also serve chips & fruit.

Hot dogs and hamburgers! Kids will never get enought of that meal

baby food. It's pre made and I hear babies love it

Pick-up foods. Pasta salad, finger sandwiches, a fruit tray, etc. You can keep all that stuff in the fridge over night.

My sister makes a good pasta salad. Use rotini pasta, chunks of tomato, cucumber, salami, and chucks of cheese. For the dressing use 1/2 Ranch and 1/2 Kraft House Italian.

Most people just expect cake and ice cream so they can go about there day...........but, maybe fruit and veggie trays, meat trays, baked beans, scalloped potatoes
