Answers:
Make a pasta or cous cous salad with tuna and sweetcorn and/or rice salad with veg. Make a salad of lettuce, tomato and cucumber and roast a chicken the day before - take it whole (use fingers - no need for knives & forks!) and take some buttered rolls - instant chicken and salad rolls! You can make potato salad so easily! Just boil some new potatoes until tender, wait until cooled then mix in some salad cream and fresh or dried mint and parsley. Coleslaw is just as easy - grate onion, cabbage and carrot and add mayonnaise and salt & pepper.
The simplest dessert would be a pack of jaffa cakes or some muffins or take a couple of quid with you and buy an icecream!

Go to safeway. Get the chicken meal deal. It comes with 8 pieces of chicken, potato salad, & rolls for like 10 bucks.

Strawberries. Easy pudding as they need no preparation, and you can't get much more summery than that!

best check what they can and can't eat, food allergy's can be killers now-a-days!!

Cut some potatoes up into wedges ( you can get cheep wedged seasoning from asda) cook them the night before , they are nice cold with some dips - use the dorito's dips you get with crisps :).

Veggies cut into sticks with various dips nice & cheap easy to prepare, with crisps to dunk as well, they dont take up too much room.

Make a tuna and sweetcorn pasta salad. This is so cheap...you can get a kilo of pasta for about a quid in tesco and if you buy the shop's own tuna and sweetcorn that's also very cheap (remember this from my not too distant student days!). Don't forget the mayo tho (this is cheap too)! It's lovely eaten cold! Then go for strawberries for dessert...you can never go wrong with strawberries! You could even get a bottle of cava for a fiver. If the picnic is a date i think this would be very much appreciated! Everyone knows how difficult it is to do nice things on a budget coz you're a student!!!

Oh yummy!
Wine, fruit juice, water, all chilled.
Salad sandwiches - lettuce tomato cucumber.
Picnic eggs. Ham, cheese, Pickle, pate, boiled eggs, french bread.
Ploughmans is nice outdoors.
Mini sausage rolls. Cheese straws. Picnic sausages.
Fruit - pineapple segments. Apples, pears, Bananas, Grapes. Mini trifles. Fondant iced cakes.
But dont take too much! If you know the sorts of things they like/don't like, it really helps. Otherwise you may well take twice what you need.

Oh and Lashings of ginger beer.

Snacks:
boiled eggs
assorted pickles
raw veggies and dip
crackers and cheese

Desserts:
Cookies
Brownies
Pudding
Rice Krispy Treats

buy tortillas and make turkey sandwich wraps, get pre cut up fresh veggies and dip, some sort of melon and mint tea.and cookies

a picnic sounds really nice right now! where I live it is 40 degrees, had to wear gloves and a hat today:(

a baguette, sharp knife and board to cut it on, a block of cheese, and a tomato. if it's in the budget, maybe a bottle of white wine, if not, some ginger ale in plastic wine glasses. if she likes you as much as you like her (planning a picnic!!) you don't need much, but make sure what you do bring is quality. you'll get points for thoughtfulness. oh yeah, bring a plastic water bottle, so you can cut off the top with your sharp knife, and fill it with fresh picked flowers that you find at the picnic spot. it will melt her heart.
