A couple from my church has a luau every year, and it just keeps growing!

They have bamboo floor mats tacked around tables to make "skirts!."
Take leis and cut in half and string through the trees outside!.
Everyone get a lei upon arrival
Food is themed "tropical" as well!.
- cut out sugar cookies
- pineapple and brown sugar ham BBQ's (yum)

We played a game this year that was too fun!
They took a sheet and made a "runway"
Wrapped a package multiple times (i think about 8) with a small gift in it!.
Passed it around the circle!.
When Susie said stop, whoever was touching it unwrapped 1 layer!.
If it wasn't the last layer, they picked up a garbage bag that had a "tropical" outfit in it (but no one knew that)
At the end, the ones who picked up a bag changed into the outfit and had a "fashion show"
They just put the clothes on over their existing clothing!.
Some wore slips as tube tops, bikini tops as ear muffs, etc!.

It was hilarious!

Hawaiian luau themes are popping up everywhere, from birthday parties to weddings!. Here are some tips to add some style to your own Hawaiian luau party!.


Location and Theme

Your luau party should be held outdoors if possible!. If you must move indoors because of the weather or space restrictions, make sure your decorations and food can easily be moved inside!.
Advise your guests ahead of time that the theme of the party is Hawaiian!. Ask them to dress in Hawaiian shirts or dresses, shorts, sandals, and anything else they think would add to the theme!.
Decor

Think tropical!. Pick up some inexpensive tiki torches from the home and garden store, carved candles, green streamers, coconuts and any other decorations that feature related themes like shells, surfing or hula dancing!.

Food and Drink

Classic tropical cocktails like Mai tais, Daiquiris, and Pina coladas are perfect for your Hawaiian luau!. Offer a non-alcoholic version as well!. Pitchers of iced tea or punch, presented in a large bowl with fresh fruit, make great beverage choices!. Don't forget the cocktail umbrellas! Serving drinks in coconut shells is also a nice touch!.

Ham and Pineapple Pinwheels

INGREDIENTS:
1 (8 ounce) package whipped
pineapple cream cheese
1 1/2 cups crushed pineapple
in juice, well drained 6 (8 inch) flour tortillas
6 ounces sliced fully cooked
deli ham

DIRECTIONS:
1!. Mix the cream cheese and pineapple in a bowl until evenly blended!. Place the tortillas on a clean work surface!. Spread 2/3 of each tortilla with the cream cheese mixture!. Place a slice of ham over the cream cheese!. Roll up each tortilla towards its uncovered edge!. If needed, seal the edge with a dollop of cream cheese!. Wrap each tortilla roll in plastic wrap, sealing tightly!. Refrigerate at least 2 hours!. Unwrap, and cut into 1/2 inch wide pieces!.


Bacon Wrapped Pineapple

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 pound sliced bacon, cut
into thirds
1 (20 ounce) can pineapple
chunks in juice, drained 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup chili sauce

DIRECTIONS:
1!. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)!.
2!. Wrap each chunk of pineapple with a piece of bacon and secure with toothpicks!. Place in a shallow baking dish!. In a small bowl, stir together the brown sugar, mayonnaise and chili sauce; pour over the bacon wrapped pineapple!.
3!. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until bacon is crispy on the edges and the sauce is bubbly!. Serve warm!.


World's Best Cream Cheese and Pineapple Dip

INGREDIENTS:
1 (8 ounce) package cream
cheese, softened
2 cups crushed pineapple,
drained with juice reserved 1 teaspoon onion powder
2 cloves garlic, peeled and
crushed

DIRECTIONS:
1!. In a medium bowl, mix together cream cheese, crushed pineapple, onion powder and garlic!. Mix in reserved juice from pineapple as desired!. Chill in the refrigerator until serving!.


Ham and Pineapple Kabobs


INGREDIENTS:
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons distilled white
vinegar
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon prepared mustard 3/4 pound cooked ham, cut into
1 inch cubes
1 (15 ounce) can pineapple
chunks, drained
skewers

DIRECTIONS:
1!. Preheat grill for high heat!.
2!. In a medium bowl, mix together brown sugar, vinegar, vegetable oil, and mustard!. Thread ham and pineapple chunks alternately onto skewers!.
3!. Lightly oil grill grate!. Place skewers on the prepared grill, and brush liberally with the brown sugar mixture!. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes, turning frequently and basting often!. Serve when heated through and richly glazed!.


Shrimp Lollipops with Pineapple Chili Dipping Sauce

INGREDIENTS:
For the Lollipops
8 Callisons Ginger Mango
Seasoned Skewers (appetizer
size)
8 ounces raw shrimp meat
1 tablespoon minced fresh
ginger root
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon chopped fresh
cilantro 2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 egg white
1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch

Pineapple Chili Dipping Sauce
1/3 cup finely chopped fresh
pineapple
1/3 cup Asian sweet chili sauce
Chopped fresh cilantro, for
garnish

DIRECTIONS:
1!. In a food processor fitted with a steel blade, add the shrimp meat, ginger, garlic, cilantro and soy sauce!. In a small bowl, combine egg white and corn starch and whisk until frothy then add to the shrimp mixture!. Pulse until chopped well!. Cover and refrigerate mixture for 30 minutes!.
2!. Meanwhile, make the Pineapple Chili Dipping Sauce; in a small bowl, combine chopped pineapple and chili sauce!. Set aside!.
3!. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F!.
4!. To form and serve lollipops: for each skewer, form about 1 1/2 tablespoons of chilled shrimp mixture around the tip of each skewer forming a slightly oval shape!. Place onto a lightly oiled baking sheet with sides not touching!. Bake in preheated oven for about 10 to 12 minutes or until cooked through!.
5!. Serve lollipops with the dipping sauce and garnish with chopped cilantro!.


Pineapple Cheese Ball

INGREDIENTS:
2 (8 ounce) packages cream
cheese, softened
1 cup minced celery
1/2 cup chopped green bell
pepper 1 teaspoon minced onion
1 (20 ounce) can crushed
pineapple, drained
1 cup chopped pecans

DIRECTIONS:
1!. In a medium mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, celery, bell pepper, onion, and crushed pineapple!. Divide the mixture in half and form two balls out of the mixture!. Roll each ball in the pecans!. Chill until ready to serve!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
