HELLO WE R TALKING UR 18 B-DAY ! sweet heart u should not be cooking make THEM take YOU out 2 like carabbaies are somewhere good!
:)

keep it simple, just bake some special cakes.

(Bob Marley recipe)

spaghetti bolognese is always a good one, and get ice cream for afters, or if you got money, buy steak and mushrooms. yum
garlic bread for starters.

a cake with ice cream = ice cream cake!! OR something SUGARY!!!!

Make it easy on yourself mate. Grill some burgers. I have a great recipe.

Mike's Spicy Burgers

1 lb ground beef
1/3 ground sausage (spicy or mild)
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/8 cup chopped hot peppers (optional)
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 cup Italian bread crumbs
1 egg
8 wheat hamburger buns
8 slices pepper jack cheese
8 slices tomato
8 pieces of lettuce

Mix all ingredients well in a bowl.
Make paddies
grill until done

Serve with grilled or baked fries, mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup. MMMMMMMMMM...good.

Enjoy!

Nonono! You shouldn't cook for your friends on YOUR birthday! Order in! Get a take-away or something! And you can always buy alcohol from your local store!

you can make some pasta for main course and soup for starters

What about prawn cocktail or melon cocktail to start, then lasagna with salad and garlic bread for main...then do cheesecake or birthday cake for afters!!!!

i think you should all go out and pick up the chicks,,,, then have some wild fruit salad back at you place ,,, cheers

Princesses is right - they should cook for you or take you out!!
Failing that why don't you just order a takeaway - less stress and no washing up either!!

just ask Delia!

get a take out !! dont bloody cook on your own bday !!

Forget that! You should make them take YOU out for your bday!!!!!!

for starter just roll some smoked salmon round celery, sticks, serve with wedges of lemon. for main mexican food is really quick and lots of fun to eat with friends. for dessert you could get some frozen raspberries and pop them in the blender just add vodka for a fab sorbet... sugar if you need to but only a tiny amount. you can serve it in wine glasses and it looks great if you dip the rims in sugar like a cocktail.
dont spend too much time cooking its your birthday!
you could invite your friends over early to help you prepare the main meal.have a jug of pimms or punch ready and get stuck in.

Coq au vin - so simple (not the original french recipe but sure tastes good) and takes NO time so more time to prettify yourself and faff around with candles and music etc. Also doesn't leave a load of messy washing up on the side in the kitchen. (can be made the day before and reheated as the flavors infuse overnight)

This is for four people so do the maths on the quantities
Chicken breasts (skinless enough for one each)
Mushrooms (little ones you don't have to cut up)
Onions (little ones you don't have to cut up)
Smoked bacon (2 slices cut into fine strips)
Half a bottle of decent red wine
Stock (chicken)
Carrots (little ones, topped and tailed and peeled but whole other than that)

Fry the onions, bacon and mushrooms in a little oil or butter on a low heat, until the onions soften and there is more liquid in the pan than you started with. Add the chicken breasts and fry the sides off until golden. (maybe 10 mins) Transfer this to a casserole dish and add a half bottle of red wine and a pint of stock (made from stock cube if you like) Twist in some black pepper and put it in the oven to cook through at a medium heat for ages. I start cooking mine at midday and leave it in the oven on gas mark 3 until eight o'clock at night. Check it half an hour before serving If the sauce needs thickening drain it into a jug and add a little flour and stir loads, if it goes lumpy strain it through a sieve, put the sauce back into the casserole dish and cook for the rest of the time.

Serve with new potatoes (charlottes are best) (boiled for 25 mins) with real butter and green beans (blue lake or french beans) and broccoli (don't over cook it 8 mins in boiling water only)

Serve in the coq in the dish it was cooked in and the potatoes and veg in heated dishes and then everyone can dig in!

I start this meal with a light tomato and mozzarella salad with a balsamic vinegar and black pepper dressing (also can be made in advance) and finish with a light lemon sorbet and sliced fruit (kiwi and apple)

ENJOY!
