Disco Party Ideas?!
Disco Party Ideas?
So I am a big oldies fan and I love disco music. I want to plan a disco party but I need some ideas. I can't have it inside the house so I'm thinking about having it in my yard which would hold more people. The problem is I don't know how I would go about getting a disco ball or dance floor outside. I don't have a lot of money and I don't want to spend to much. And I don't know what to serve as far as food and things like that go. any ideas at all would be appreciated thanxxxxxx

Gotta have the fondue pot.
Also a big plate of Swedish meatballs on those little toothpicks with the plastic frizzees on the ends.
You can have it outside, but the disco theme is kind of killed right there. I grew up in the disco era. And it was mostly dark, smokey night clubs with a lot of black lights and disco balls. Not sure how you can pull off that effect in the back yard. So how about using the garage? Maybe you can drop a disco ball from the ceiling and black out all the windows. Add a couple of tables, black out the windows, and blow up a few pictures of Donna Summer, the Bee Gees, John Travolta, etc. to hang on the walls and not make it so garage like. Of course, lots of loud disco music is a given! For food, I would stick to something easy like pretzels, chips, etc. The disco era was about the dancin', not the eatin'!!
Try using fairy/ christmas lights that are for outdoors. Food probably a barbecue or pizza and hot dogs/beefburgers etc. Make a big punch for outside so people can help themselves saving you time and your legs!
Don't forget disco lights and music. People can dance to it, you can even make a dancing competition. You should also serve chips, and snacks like that. Soda is a must and some beer and wine is good to, if your guests like to drink alchohol.
