I need an idea for a six year old birthday party?!

Question:

I need an idea for a six year old birthday party?

In southern california.

Answers:
Get one of those bouncy castles filled with balloons, will keep them occupied for ages and gets rid of all their excitement and energy.

This is the golden age for clowns with animal ballons and a good show. I would show a movie, to keep the wild 6 year old children under control for most of the time.

We took our son and a couple friend miniature golfing and they had a blast and then went to Chucky Cheese. He wants to do that again this year! My son will be 7 on April 16th.

I live in Canada, but my son will be six soon and loves bowling partys, the imax, the dinosaur park and good old fashioned bbq's

I am taking my son to a B-day party (6 year old) at the local fire house. They have a "community room" attached to it. The kids will get a tour of the trucks, sleeping quarters, etc. and get to don the gear and do a drill. Incorporated inot this will be games and fire safety lessons.

This is a little boys b-day and obviously he loves firemen/policemen.

See what interests your little one and go around that. It is about them having great day (not really about the guests).

Good Luck....I'll be planning one soon too :)

I heard about this great idea the other day...it might be more towards girls...but i think boys would have fun with it too. You take a couple kids with the birthday child to one of those child hair salons. The kids get to get a special "do" and the boys could have a crazy color added to their hair (not permanent). Then you take a picture of each child that they get to keep as a favor.

Bouncy Castles they rock!
BOWLING so much fun!
The zoo!
A themed Party make the children dress up!
Get a clown or magican.
You could go to the movies
Roller Skating
Chucky Cheese
and so on!

I'm not sure if this would be for a boy or girl, but you could use it for both I suppose. Why not try a Hawaiian themed party? Especially since the weather is warm where you are. You could hand out some leis and make some little pineapple snacks as well....just an idea.

how can i know

My cousins { age ranging 5 - 8 } Had a painting party. That theme was lost when the kids spotted the trampoline. They jumped until it was time to go home and some refused to leave. Have a jumping party. Sounds too simple but @ that age they love to jump.

When my daughter was six, we had a craft party. They got to pick their own ceramic piece and paint it. Look for those kids of places in your area.
The kids had a blast.

My nephew just turned five, and we had a Pirate themed birthday party for him complete with a treasure hunt. You can get an inexpensive blow up pool, fill it with sand and bury treasures in it or use a sandbox that you may already have. Party favors were bandanas, compasses, etc. It was a great theme for a boy's birthday party.

If it is a girl's party, you can do a princess party, movie party, call your local gymnastics place and have it there, etc.

Go to Oriental Trading Company! They have themed birthday stuff for reasonable prices, and you could also get some cheap treasures and/or party favors! :) Good luck

well happy birthday to your son!! i would get a cake with his favorite character on it to start and then have a nice b.b.q. or go to a pool or other kids fun center and let them take care of the rest...including the cleanup.

for your little six year old you could have a pool party or bowling or a scavenger hunt if she is a she and a girly girl you could do a tea party or go to libby loos

maybe a "blues clues" type party? with some sort of marker(clown face, bday cake, candles cut out of construction paper etc etc) with a clue written on it....maybe a find the party food game(ending on a picnic table in the yard? or a what does (child's name) like most about birthday parties? the clues leading to a mirror...so the kids see themselves....friends being what is best about the party?

6 year olds like crafts? maybe have a michaels party where they all get a craft to take home?
