I need some ideas on putting together a meet and greet for my office?!

Question:

I need some ideas on putting together a meet and greet for my office?

We are having it outside. Like what to give as prizes and food.

Answers:
salads( i.e.: macaroni, potato, taco salad), cheese and crackers, veggies and dip, deli meats with a variety of breads, and for dessert a variety of cookies, loaf cakes, donuts or pies?

Prizes could be gift cards to restaurants, book stores, sports stores, theatre/cultural event, spas etc, bottles of wine, gift baskets(I put some links for game ideas below along with the link for site I found the taco salad recipe)

Taco Salad

INGREDIENTS
1 pound lean ground beef
1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
1 (16 ounce) can chili beans
1 (16 ounce) bottle French dressing
1 head iceberg lettuce
1 (14.5 ounce) package tortilla chips
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup chopped tomatoes
4 tablespoons sour cream
1/2 cup prepared salsa

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and drain excess fat. Stir in the taco seasoning, chili beans and French-style dressing. Fill the dressing bottle 2/3 full of water and add to the skillet. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
Crush the bag of chips, open the bag, and toss the broken chips into a large bowl with the lettuce, cheese and tomatoes. When the meat mixture is done, combine it with the lettuce, tomatoes, chips and mix well. Then, add salsa and sour cream.

a game that would be fun for a meet and greet....(link included below) is "getting to know you"
Getting To Know You

Give everyone a question sheet when they arrive.

The sheets contain about 20 questions, such as:

- who has the newest car?
- the most siblings?
- the youngest?
- the oldest?
- married the longest?
- married the least?
- lived at their address the longest?
- the shortest?
- has the most pets?

etc.

It forces everyone to talk to identify the person who is the answer. They write in the name of who they think it is.

At the end the MC reads the questions and asks who thinks they have the right answer. This person stands, identifies the individual who also must stand. The MC then asks if anyone can beat this answer.

The one with the most correct answers gets a prize.

finger foods and plenty of coffee and donuts, muffins, and bagels.

It all depends on your budget. Make sure there is plenty of snacks, sandwiches, chips, meat/cheese/veg/fruit trays. A cake would be nice too. You could give gift cards to different stores for the prizes. If you company offers a service, you can put that on the list too. Have some music going so it helps set the mood.

Make it fun.Take and get the guest to put their names in a basket for drawings during the get together. Then take a small piece of ribbon and tie it to a chair, that person gets a prize. Are you having a greet and meet for companies?Ask them to donate prizes for the raffle.Or have a silent auction with the prizes and then the money raised donate to a charity of your companies choice.Who knows maybe a worker has had financial trouble and the funds can be given to them, discreetly.Have fun, make good appetizers and Friends..Hope this helps....

For food, I'd suggest simple things. An assortment of sandwiches, pasta salad, fruit salad, chips, etc. It's just easier and usually is less messy. If it's dinner, I'd replace the sandwiches with some kind of pasta that you can get from a caterer.

For prizes, I'd suggest different gift certificates. I'd try to select only from electronic stores, restaurants and gas stations. These are gift certificates that can be useful to anyone.

I'd also have some fun activities. Have different ice-breaker games for the staff to play. Games like "Who am I?" or "Charades" are definitely ways for people to have fun. I've also been at an office party where there was karaoke and that went over very well.

If your buget permits it - How about some local busness gift certificates. You could have finger foods like chips and dip,
veggie platter, fruit salad, cheese and sausage platters, cucumber dill sandwiches
