Question about cakes?!

Question:

Question about cakes?

I would like to buy a full sheet cake, something to serve 50 people. I would love it to have a photo on it, you know? How much would a large photo cake run me? Please, I desparatly need help!

Answers:
it depends on the bakery you go to...and the quality of the cake but it starts with $50

You need to call bakeries in YOUR AREA. Don't forget that most larger supermarkets, including WalMart and Sam's have bakeries, also.
And a full sheet cake might be a tad big for 50 people. Take to your baker.

Do you have a Costco membership? I read that you can get a 48-piece sheet cake for about $15. The photo will probably cost a bit more, but I know they do it, and there's a starting point for you.

I live in L.A. and it totally depends on where you buy it. It can range anywhere from $50 to $70.

Call around to different grocery stores and bakeries in your area to compare prices and see where you can get the best deal.

Wholly cow!! That's a big cake for only 50 people. You may end up with a lot of leftovers. A full sheet cake typically serves about 75! As far as pricing, it can range, a bakery will typically charge about $10.00 extra for the picture, rice paper is pretty expensive, and then the cost of the cake will depend on where you go, every bakery is different. Although I wouldn't go to BJ's, Sam's, or Costco. Stick to a bakery that has a good reputation, after all, the cake is usually the one thing people will talk about the most after the affair; a friend of mine got married 12 years ago and we still talk about how the wedding was beautiful but the cake was dry and tasteless!!!
