depends where you live... If ambiance is what you want, this may not come by cheap. You get what you pay for...but i would try a local hotel restaurant. See if you can view prices online of your local city hotels.
For me and my family we always go to this place by us which is called the grand buffet and grill it is really good there
Prepare a lovely Picknick in a romantic spot eg. besides a lake etc. and bring the candles and most important YOUR love yourself!
depends on where you are...but a family run italian restaurant is always cheap and has good food and nice ambience

try your local italian restaurant.....or look online in your neighbourhood and the restaurants that arnt too expensive.....Pizza Hut....buffet at the Mandarin.....goodluck
Try Sweet Basil Bistro, if you like French foods. It's in Halifax. Ranked 4-1/2 out of 5 stars. I don't know what the price range is, but it could be worth the tab. I am residing in TX at the moment, but will be moving back to upstate NY by the end of the year. I go to Canada often, and enjoy French or fresh sea foods.
