What appetizer to bring to a dinner party?!

Question:

What appetizer to bring to a dinner party?

I am invited to a pot luck dinner party and the host is serving spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer and pork tenderloin for the main dish. Someone is bringing a salad, side dish and desert. I signed up to bring another appetizer but not sure what to bring. I don't want to have another dip. I thought about brushetta but my hubby doesn't like tomatoes and I want to bring something he will like. Any suggestions?

What about this?

Crab Tarts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Have one package of Pillsbury butter flake rolls in refrigerator.

Mix together in a small bowl:

1 tin of crab
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
? cup mayonnaise
1 tbsp. green onion
1 tsp. lemon juice
? tsp. salt
? tsp. curry powder

Remove rolls from refrigerator and separate into small sections. Press into small muffin/tart tins to form a shell. Drop mixture by teaspoon full into shells. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes.

Maybe hot wings, or a veggie tray.

Try 7 Layer Dip with Chips. Or Cheese Sticks and Hot Poppers.

shrimp

how about finger sandwiches made with chicken salad?

I would suggest a party tray of some sort from an upscale grocery store if you dont wanna cook, if you want to cook how about instead of a side dish a nice light soup of some sort.

A Cheese & Meat Tray or a Fresh Fruit Salad

Pigs in a blanket.

You can make little bread pieces with goat cheese spread on them and with a bit of honey, yum!

Its so wierd youre asking this AS i'm watching a show about party appetizers on the Food Network. This recipie I really like becuase it is VERY cheap and easy to make. As well as really low on calories and fat.

Pickle Rolls
-small pickles
-cream cheese
-ham or turkey slice

Spread the cream cheese on the ham or turkey slices. Add the pickle on top and roll. Place in fridge for about an hour to set. Take out and cut edges for a clean look that shows the layers of cream cheese, pickle, and meat. Cut in half. Place toothpick on top to hold together. Voila! Perfect appetizer that cost less than 10 dollars for around 50 of them, and under 30 calories each!! Enjoy!!

Roasted red pepper pesto cheesecake
Yield: 12 Servings

1 c butter-flavoured cracker-crumbs (about 40 crackers)(like Ritz)
? c (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
2 pkg cream cheese, softened (8 oz. each)
1 c Ricotta cheese

? c drained roasted red peppers, pureed.

Mix crumbs and butter. Press onto bottom of 9" springform pan. Bake at 325F. for 10 minutes.

Combine cream cheese and ricotta cheese with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Blend in remaining ingredients. Pour over crust. Bake at 325F for 55 minutes to 1 hour.

Run knife or metal spatula around rim of pan to loosen cake; cool before removing rim of pan. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Let stand 15 minutesat room temperature before serving. Garnish, if desired. Serve with crackers. Makes 12 to 14 servings.

Crabbies! My family looooves crabbies! All you need is a can of crabmeat, a jar of Old English cheese, a stick of butter, some garlic, mayo and English muffins. You mix the first five ingredients together and spread it on the muffins. Cut the muffins into bite-sized pieces and bake at 350 until golden. Best if you can cook them at the host's house so they are hot.

won tons or egg roles

Steamed asparagus wrapped with prosciutto.

cream cheese with black olives on crackers....or make that up and spead it on a tortilla...then make "roll ups"....(roll and slice)....like little pinwheels

A veggie tray will be fine.. If you don't like that then cheeses are always good.

Sew,... good luck
