Recipes for a Birthday?? Urgent!!?!

Question:

Recipes for a Birthday?? Urgent!!?

My sisters 16th birthday is on Saturday and I am sort of the co-ordinator. That means the chef, the game organiser, tables, entertainment.. evrything! I was so caught up doing the arrangements for the games (16 yr olds are soo fussy!!) that I didn't leave much time for the cooking arrangements.

So far, I am going to be making 2 types of pasta, nachos with salsa dip and cupcakes. There will also be some pizza and an ice-cream birthday cake. It is a buffet-style party and I nees some recipes for finger foods that they will enjoy!

Also, if you know of any games that 16 yr olds will enjoy, websites please!

Answers:
Try making the little triangle sandwiches, with chicken salad, etc. The size of them are what make them a hit. Wish I'd had a sister like you when I was 16, you'll be great don't fret about it to much! As far as games ... just make sure there is lots of MUSIC! Maybe throw a little dance contest in there. Good luck!

Pig's in a blanket. You can use the small sausages that you get in the lunchmeat section or use hot dogs cut into bite size pieces. Wrap them with crescent rolls serve with ketchup. Yum

Not Quite Potato Skins

List of Ingredients

Fresh red peppers
crisp crumbled bacon
chopped green onion
shredded cheddar or cheese blend (I like to use Mexican blend)
sour cream

Recipe

Preheat oven to 375. Slice fresh red peppers lengthwise into 4-6 slices (removing seeds) depending on size of pepper. You want them large enough to put the fillings on. Lightly oil a baking dish and lay the pepper slices cut side up. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Bake for approximately 15 minutes until the peppers are tender but not mushy. Remove from oven and top with shredded cheese, green onion, and crumbled bacon. Return to oven and bake until cheese has melted. Serve with sour cream.

TORTILLA ROLL UPS

2 8oz. pkgs cream cheese
1 packet taco seasoning
black olives, chopped
green chiles, chopped
shredded cheese
package of large flour tortillas

Allow cream cheese to soften. Combine first five ingredients and spread on shells. Roll up like jelly roll and chill overnight.
Slice into 1 inch rolls and serve with salsa.

Chicken fingers area always a big hit and you don't have to fry them you can just bake them in the oven. You could also have some potato wedges, or maybe some mini eggrolls, you can buy them frozen and just heat them. Pigs in a blanket are always good too, you can either make them or buy them done and just bake them. You could also make your own party mix by mixing pretzels either the small ones or sticks, doritos, bagel chips, corn chips (fritos) in a large bowl and mixing it around. You could also have some candy maybe M&Ms in a jar with a little scooper to serve them, I did the M&M thing at a college party once and it went over big. As for games maybe you could do something like fill a jar with jelly beans and they could try to guess how many are in the jar, you could pick up a small prize at a dollar store. Have fun.

On a large platter start with refried beans that have been heated up, then top with taco meat (fresh cooked ground beef with taco seasoning), Then smear on a mild salsa, plain sour cream, shredded lettuce, chopped tomato, shredded cheese. Top with a dollop of sour cream, sprinkle with slice scallions. Serve with a load of different tortilla chips. Other optional toppings: sliced black olives and guacamole. I have made this for years at many different types of gatherings and the platter is usually scraped clean. From beginning to end, it'll take about 15 minutes to whip up. Believe it or not, even though we are talking teenagers, use fresh vegetables with a good dip and they'll eat that up too.
