What are some beach party ideas!


Question: What are some beach party ideas
having my daughters 1st bday at the beach!. we'll have a giant tent and cupcakes for her cake!. but what type of foods should i bring or make!. i want stuff that will not require utensils or plates!.!.!.aka finger food!. its during lunch so sandwiches was already an idea!. also, what can i use as a giveaway for the kids and adults attending!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Go to Walmart, to the party favors section, (usually near the birthday cards) and get some small toys and favors with your childs favorite cartoon characters to put in gift bags!. the kids will love anything you give them!. If the party is themed a beach party, maybe some cheap beach buckets and shovels!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Oriental Trading Company has TONS of beach party stuff including lots of favors, decorations, etc!.
For food you could do mini hamburgers, pigs in a blanket, watermelon, sandwhiches, etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

PIGS IN A BLANKET

1 pkg!. little franks
1 pkg!. Pillsbury crescent rolls

Cut each section of roll dough into 4 pieces!. Wrap one around each frank!. Bake at 400 degrees for 6 to 10 minutes!. Stick with a toothpick and serve!.

FRIED CHICKEN

1 frying chicken, cut into pieces
1 quart water
1/2 cup salt
oil (sufficient for frying)
3 cups flour
1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
red pepper powder (paprika)

Soak chicken in salt water to cover, (about one quart with 1/2 cup salt) in refrigerator for 3 hrs or over night!.

Combine in a bag: 3 cups flour, 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning, 1 tablespoon paprika!.

Coat wet pieces in bag 2 or 3 at a time!. Fill a deep frying pan with 3 inches of oil and heat on medium high until a 1 inch cube of bread dropped in turns golden brown in one minute (about 360 degees F)!. Fry chicken pieces until golden brown, starting with the largest pieces (about 15 minutes on both sides)!. Reduce heat if chicken browns too quickly!.

Keep warm in 300F oven as remaining pieces are prepared!.!.

CHICKEN FINGERS

5 lb!. boneless chicken breasts
1 1/2 c!. mayonnaise
3 tsp!. minced onion
3 tsp!. dry or regular mustard
2 c!. dry bread crumbs
2 c!. sesame seeds

Combine mayonnaise, onion, and mustard!. Cut chicken into finger-sized pieces!. Roll chicken in mixture!. Combine bread crumbs and sesame seeds!. Roll chicken in dry mixture!. Place on cookie sheet, drizzle with oil and bake 15-20 minutes at 400 degrees!. Serve plain or with honey dip!.

HONEY DIP:

2 c!. mayonnaise
4 tbsp!. honey

Mix together!. Refrigerate until ready to serve!.

HAM SALAD FOR SANDWICHES

3 c!. ground ham
1/4 c!. celery
1 tbsp!. onion
1/4 c!. sweet pickles, chopped
1/2 c!. mayonnaise

Grind all ingredients and mix together!. Stir in the mayonnaise!. Store in refrigerator!. Nice for party luncheons!.

CHEESIEST FRIED CHICKEN EMPANADAS WITH CON QUESTO DIP
Yield: 12 to 15 servings

Ingredients:
3 cups chopped, cooked chicken, about 4 to 5 chicken breasts
1 (8-ounce) package shredded colby and Monterey Jack cheese blend
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 chopped red bell pepper
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 (15-ounce) package refrigerated pie crusts
Water

Proceedure:
Preheat vegetable oil in a deep-fryer to 350 degrees F!.

In a large bowl using a rubber spatula, combine the chicken, colby and Monterey cheese, cream cheese, red pepper, cumin, salt, and pepper!.

Remove 1 pie crust from pie tin onto a lightly floured surface and roll into a 15-inch circle!. Cut out rounds, using a 3-inch cookie cutter!. Re-roll dough as needed!. Repeat procedure with remaining pie crusts, making 12 to 15 circles total!.

Arrange 1 round on a clean, flat surface!. Using a pastry brush, lightly brush the edges of crust with water!. Place 1 heaping teaspoon of chicken mixture in the center of the round!. Fold the dough over the filling, pressing the edges with a fork to seal!.

Repeat with the remaining rounds and chicken mixture!. Place empanadas in deep-fryer for 3 to 5 minutes or until golden brown!. Top with con queso dip!.
Note: Up to this point, the recipe can be made ahead and frozen for up to 1 month

CON QUESTO DIP

1 pound package Cheddar (recommended: Velveeta)
1 (16-ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained
1 diced green pepper

In a medium sauce pot, slowly melt Cheddar over medium/low heat!. When cheese is fully melted add tomatoes, peppers, stirring with spoon until combined well!.

Pour cheese dip into a small casserole dish and serve as a dip for the cheesy empanadas or pour on top for a real cheesy effect!.

HOGS IN A SLEEPING BAG
Yield: 4 to 6 servings

Ingredients:
1 (16-ounce) package polska kielbasa
2 sheets puff pastry, thawed and lightly rolled out
1 egg
Honey mustard, barbeque sauce or apricot jam, for serving, optional

Proceedure:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F!.

Cut kielbasa into 6 (4-inch) pieces!. Cut puff pastry sheets into thirds (6 strips)!. Roll each piece of kielbasa in puff pastry and place on a baking sheet!.

Beat egg in a small dish and brush generously over pastry!. Bake until pastry is golden brown and puffed, about 20 minutes!. Serve with mustard, barbeque sauce, or jam, if desired!.

MINI PIZZAS
8 servings

Pillsbury Grand Rolls
Pizza quick sauce or spaghetti sauce
Favorite pizza toppings
Pizza or mozzarella cheese

Prepare and cook toppings such as ground beef, sausage, onion, etc!. Separate and flatten each biscuit!. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet!. Top with pizza sauce, toppings and cheese!. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes or until crust is golden brown!.

PBJ & BANANA SANDWICH

1 jar peanut butter
2 slices bread, per sandwich
1 jar jelly
1 bunch bananas

Spread peanut butter on bread!. Spread jelly on bread!. Peel a banana and put small slices of banana on top of peanut butter side!. Put both slices of bread together and cut in half to make 2 rectangles!. Cut each rectangle in half to make 4 squares!.
