Traditionally you would cook a Ham on Xmas dinner!. In my family we have Rst beef ussually!. We only have turkey on thanksgiving!.!.!.

This is what we do!. My family comes over and we have little appitizers before dinner, such as stuffed mushrooms, olives, celery filled with cream cheese, crabbies (they are a family recipe)

then we will have a soup to begin with, or shrimp cocktail, for soup I would say something like butternut squash bisque, or french onion soup, something wintery!.

then on to the main course

If you wantt o make a turkey that would be good, but I think it is just a mirror or thanksgiving,

Cook a rst beef
Serve with gravy
Some cheese potatoes
may a dish that is made up of root vegetables, seasoned and pan fried or baked
or mashed potatoes
I prefer mashed turnip
!.!.!.!. Let me know if you want actual recipes, I wont mind finding them for you or giving you some of mine!.

For dessert I would suggest pies, maybe some apple crisp, cookies!.!.!. things like thatWww@FoodAQ@Com

I discovered last year that a lot of people wanted something a little non-traditional!. I did the whole turkey thing, but wanted an option for the vegetarian in my family, so I made simple, broiled salmon seasoned with just lemon juice, salt and pepper!. I should have just made a bunch of salmon! Everyone kept asking if there was more!. The best thing about salmon is that it's very easy to make and can be served at room temperature!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Carrot Souffle

* 1/2 cup crushed corn flakes or walnuts
* 3 tablespoons brown sugar
* 2 teaspoons butter, room temperature

Souffle

* 1 pound carrots, cooked until tender
* 3 eggs
* 1/3 cup sugar
* 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
* dash of nutmeg
* pinch of salt (optional)

Preheat oven to 350°!.
For the topping, combine the crushed corn flakes or nuts, brown sugar, and butter!. Set aside!.
Puree the cooked carrots and the eggs in a blender (do not use a food processor)!. Add the sugar, flour, vanilla, butter, nutmeg and salt; blend until well blended!. Pour into a 1 1/2-quart baking pan or soufflé dish and bake for 40 minutes!.
Sprinkle the topping over the soufflé and bake 5 to 10 minutes longer, until the topping is lightly browned!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your first answer is a little biased:) I don't think ham is at all traditional for Christmas - that's what we have for Easter! !.!.!.!. We usually have turkey for Christmas too, but sometimes will have a prime rib instead:) I like to use the Reynolds turkey bags; they'll keep the oven cleaner, and the turkey cooks faster and is always moist!. I just rub with olive oil and sprinkle a package of dry onion soup all over it:) !.!.!.!.!.!. Green salad !.!.!. Mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes !.!.!. fruit salad !.!.!. Jello mold (reminds me of dinners when I was a kid) !.!.!. Pie, cake & Christmas Cookies!. My mom would roll round scoops of vanilla ice cream in coconut and freeze them!. Then serve them on chocolate sauce for dessert; they look like snowballs:)Www@FoodAQ@Com
