I have played personal chef for my mom a few mothers days!
Once I did a brunch with omelets and salads,and we had mimosas and bloody marys. Another time I did a seafood and linguine dinner with mussels, shrimps and scallops, and took over a nice bottle of wine. One year it was really nice out, so I did steaks and roasted veggies on the grill.
It really depends on the foods your mom likes! I will tell you that my mom (and dad!!) really gets a kick out of me coming over and making a nice meal for them, without her having to do any of the work!
Crepes would also be a nice idea, or a quiche, maybe.
Oh! And be sure to take fresh flowers and a card!
She'll love it!

cook dinner for your mother make sure she doesnt do a thing and cook her favourite thing. thats what i do every year and my mum loves it.
Make surprise to her and cook something that your mother likes..!!
Omelette, Toasted English muffin and a danish....that's what I would like to have for Mother's Day (can ya forward this off to my hubby..lol)
Make her breakfast in bed!! I came across this simple but sweet recipe I just might try!!! Get a regular pankake mix and make two large pancakes and cut them into heart shapes, then take a bunch of strawberries, a squeeze of lemon juice, and a spoon of honey, and blend together to make a sauce. Then heat up the sauce in a sauce pan, and when heated spread all over the bottom of a white plate. Then take the two pancakes, place them on the plate side by side, and finally sprinkle some confectioners sugar over the whole thing. There you have it! a sweet mothers day breakfast that's really simple!!!
TRY DOING A BRUNCH, WITH BUTTERMILK WAFFLES AND MAYBE A SAUSAGE, APPLE, CHEDDAR QUICHE . COOKS.COM HAS BOTH RECIPES AND THEY ARE EASY! THE QUICHE IS ESPECIALLY NICE AND THE SWEET OF THE WAFFLES WOULD COMPLEMENT BOTH. THEN LATER IN THE DAY TOWARDS EVE. YOU COULD DO A LIGHT SUPPER FOR HER AS WELL. MAKE IT A DAY ALL ABOUT HER! OH AND MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN THE HOUSE, FINISH THE LAUNDRY AND SO ON BEFORE HER DAY IS HERE. CAUSE YOU KNOW MOMS' THEY ALWAYS TRY TO HELP!

flavored coffee and real cream ...
some scrambled eggs made in a double boiler with lots of butter, and a bowl of Chinese gooseberries (don't peel them ... serve whole, to be cut in half and then scoop out each half with a tea spoon) ...
