how about a hawaiian luau? you could use palm trees, grass table runners, bamboo poles, scene setting posters and tiki lights. Decorate with bright, tropical colors, bamboo accents and Hawaiian-themed accessories from your local pool retailer, party supply or craft store. Tiki torches and tropical flowers scattered across tables and the surface of the pool provide the finishing touches for a magical evening. play limbo. Make leis at the party or buy ready-made ones to welcome your guests. Pineapple chicken or ham would be delicious main dishes, or treat them to an authentic pig roast, pineapple macademia nut cookies
fresh coconut cake Hawaiian salad w/hearts of palm, artichokes, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, diced ham, sprouts, tomatoes, pineapple in a Catalina dressing

hm....instead of pink you could make it black tie. if its all girls, have them show up in very formal wear. do u have any older or younger brothers? maybe you could rig it so that they and a friend or two could dress up in tux's and be servers, that would be very cute. for food, its doesn't have to be difficult. just like, chicken breasts with couscous and a fancy salad of greens. for dessert ,you could have brownies served warm with ice cream. sounds like fun

you're best keeping to foods everyone will like. It's the theme and decoration that will make it fancy or not.

Make little pigs in blankets (little hot dogs in dough) serve mustard and ketchup on side for dipping **also a good choice for poolside

Mini pizzas are easy to make with english muffins, mozzarella cheese and sauce

BBQ chicken bites (made ahead and put on skewers like a kebab) heat up on low before the party put extra sauce on side for dipping

Chili

Cheese and crackers

Veggies and dip

Nachos

pasta salad

Most everyone will like these foods and they're easy to make ahead of time

For desert you can make a special cake to fit the theme

or make cupcakes so that everyone can have an individual decorated cake

Sounds like fun except you dont want to make your guests uncomfortable by making them wear pink. Tons of people hate it, or dont have any pink things. Why dont you tone it down and make it a white and pink party? Or even just white. As for food how about finger foods? Like mini sandwhiches, cookies, squares, chip dip, spinach dip etc.

for a foolproof nite, ask what she would like for 'HER' party.

Italian food. Spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread sticks, and tiramisu.
Decor should be pretty christmas lights in all of the trees and flowers or candles floating in the pool. The colors could still be pink and white. Just have everyone wear white and you wear bright pink to really stand out.

california rolls, chow mein, asian food. You could serve pastas, french bread, italian squash.

If you're having it pool side, make it an elegant pool party. Have everyone dress up decently. Girls should wear summer dresses or skirts and a nice top and boys can wear polos and shorts or nice pants depending on your weather.

If you are going somewhat fancy, try to make the foods as clean as possible. You don't want to have any foods that are too messy or greasy and have someone get their nice clothes stained.

My favorite food to change into something elegant is pizza. Try coming up with a pizza that isn't as messy. My favorite is asparagus pizza. Most of the time, if you eliminate the pizza sauce and add some kind of vegetable, it is a lot cleaner and more elegant. It is also more elegant if you make personal ones for each person so about 5-6" each.
