I was thinking maybe an old hollywood pool party or a sixties mod dinner party.

How about a "Two More Years to Go" and serve all kinds of "virgin" drinks. OK, just kidding, kind of. I think Old Hollywood sound great!!!!! Everyone could come dressed as their favorite old Hollywood actor/ress!
I like the Hollywood theme - you could put a stars name on the back of each invitee - they could ask questions of the other guests to try to guess who's name they are wearing.

That is such a cool idea. Finger sandwiches would be a must. With the pool party you could set up a non-alcoholic bar and have juice "on the rocks or blended drinks. Smoothies might be too modern but you could get by with them. Old movies could give you some great ideas if you have the time to watch any.
